  1. I need to set up dive tank storage on my Jupiter 31 and I would like to see and hear what has, and hasn't, worked for others. My one thought is to use the same brackets that hold the removable stern seat and having a channel bar attached to fit in those brackets. What do you think?
  2. I have 2 push pins that hold the folding back seat in place on my Jupiter 31. I tried to remove them yesterday for cleaning. I sprayed them with corrosion block and was able to get 1 out with a little tapping. The 2nd just won't budge. The push pin works freely just can not get the pin to slide out even with some pretty good tapping to push it through. Any suggestions?
  3. We picked up a wall system from a Linens & Things that was closing. They were selling all their display fixtures pretty darn cheap and we picked the attachments we wanted.
  4. Try RollOff or SprayNine to remove the stains. Look into having terry cloth covers made to protect the arms in the future, much more comforatable also.
  5. Anybody been. Planning on doing some diving. What else to do and just as improtantly, what not to do? Thanks!
  6. Ended up getting a break in the weather and was able to run to Park Blvd with no problem. Ft Desoto would have worked, just a longer drive in the truck. If weather had been an issue my other choice would have been Gulfport.
  7. I need to pull my 31 jupiter out of the water today, what the largest boat you have pulled or seen pulled at the Don. I usually use the Park Blvd ramp but the boat is at PAG marina and the weather is not looking to good. Thanks!
  8. We have now run 4 days with the Auto Tether and like it. Installation was easy enough as others have posted. I also agree with the belt clip issue, I choose to use the velcro supplied and strapped it to my belt that way. Some other observations: Turn it off when you leave the boat: 1st day we stopped to get some bait and supplies and walked off the boat. When my nephew returned with the bait he heard the alarm going off That was our first real life test. When the helmsman FOB gets wet it really works: Later on the 1st day, we stopped at Egmont Key to swim. Again, forgetting that I had the FOB on and being the last one off the boat, the alarm went off as soon as I got in the water so I climb back up on the boat and turn it off. Another real life test. We have finally found a good use for no wake zones. When running back to the dock at the end of the day, we start washing the topsides with the freshwater washdown in the no wake zones. It's cooler than at home where the wind seems to die and temps rise 15 degrees... CAUTION - HELMSMAN FOB REALLY DOES WORK WHEN IT GETS WET!!!: The scence, I'm wearing the helmsman FOB, wife and I scrubbing away, 14 y/o at the helm, 6 y/o with the hose having a good time, in the "Narrows" of the ICW on Sunday afternoon, 7 other boats within 250 yards, 3 ahead, 4 aft. THE 6 Y/O SPRAYS ME GOOD WITH THE HOSE, AUTO TETHER ACTIVATES, 14 Y/O HAS NO POWER WITH BOATS ALL AROUND HIM 14 y/o does a great job of getting the motors back running and brings the boat under control, all OK Another real life test. If running in a "wet boat", an open boat in the rain or when a 6 y/o has a hose in her hand, I suggest that you protect the helmsman FOB from getting drenched I look forward to receiving the crew FOB's and using the Auto Tether on every outing!

  10. Thanks for the Tips everyone! Now, is anyone interested in purchasing my 23' Dorado?
  11. I am considering renting a lift at a small private marina to store my 31' Jupiter on. The lift has a sticker stating a 20,000# compacity and generally looks in good condition. Having never owned or used a lift personally, what should I look for while inspecting? Any tips on use? Thanks,
  12. I thought this was a great report on why the pirates do what they do. They actually have a business plan, they have investors, share profits, keep track of expenses and have time sheets! I suggest that you listen to the news report. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...oryId=103657301
  13. I'm going to be staying down at Pass-a-Grille this weekend and taking the my wife and 6y/o niece and 14y/o nephew out for some Macks and hopefully some schoolie kings, just draggin hardware. Good luck to those of you fishing KOB!
  14. Finally getting out on the water!!! Taking the boat a little south and staying at a friend's house on Pass-a-Grille. Rented a couple of kids for the weekend, 6 and 14 y/os and going to take them out to see if we can find some schoolie kings and macks, gotta keep the kids busy. I'll try to stay clear of those of you who might be fishing the King of the Beach tournament! We will also be testing (this is where the kids will be very useful ) the AutoTether, I'll post a review next week.
  15. Here is the St.Pete Times article. Looks like the EPIRB activated but went down with the boat, could have been in a manual bracket. Having it on deck in a ditch bag may have shortened rescue time. http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/...ticle995887.ece
  16. Hotspot - I realy like that one, especially the instructions on page 2 but I don't know how to convert a PDF file to a word or excel file. I'd like to be able have saved in a file all the boat information and only have to add the destination and crew for each trip. One4water - That might be the online site I recall seeing in the past. Has anyone used USFloatplan.com? If so, how was your experience with it?
  17. Does anybody have a word or excel template for a Float Plan. I found some great ones on the web but they were all PDF's. I'd like to have something that I could email to my primary contacts. I also recall seeing a site several years ago where you filed the float plan online and if you did not check in by the appropriate time they would start calling your primary contacts, anybody use this? Thanks!
  18. Just last Friday I had Jet Age Fuel in Clearwater deliver no-e10 fuel. When the driver showed up he was surprised that the boat was on a trailer and wanted to make sure I understood the price (2.76/gal). I said yes, and that I did not want to use E-10 if I don't have to. Having the fuel delivered is still cheaper then buyig it on the water. For me, there is just to much risk using e-10.
  19. RP - now that's a real power buy
  20. How do we get a Reel Boating T-shirt? I just saw one on InletCam!
