  1. It was a great trip. http://www.thehulltruth.com/sportfishing-f...-venice-la.html
  2. It took me to long to make the post on THT so I'm going to be lazy and link you over. It was a great trip and thanks to the guys that offered advice before. http://www.thehulltruth.com/sportfishing-f...-venice-la.html
  3. I had the same experience. The coasties pull up, ask to board, and some kid jumps on my boat, takes a look at me, puts a hand on his sidarm and says at almost a yell "Besides the weapon at your side, are there any other weapons on the boat?!" I'm thinking what the hell, I have a 6 inch fillet knife in a sheath on my belt, and told him if that's a weapon the boat is probably full of them and you're welcome to look. Him and a couple of gung ho's relax after a few minutes of poking around and after they were done were decent young bucks to talk to. The first minute came off all wrong though. A few years back my brother came down for a week and we got stopped every day for four days straight. On the fourth day I got pissed and asked if he was going to waste an hour of my day every day this week. He asked if he had really pulled me over every day and I told him yes, this was the fourth day in a row and he said he was sorry and left without another word.
  4. Says the man with the shiniest anchor in MS
  5. I was invited to jump in on a charter with Capt Devlin of Reel Peace charters in Venice next week. I think the gear is provided, any advice on what bring, do, etc. Thanks in advance.
  6. My bet is they'll offer new shingles and strongarm you into the labor. Write down who says what and put a date beside it. Your roofer can probably fill you in on what works best because he's probably installed a mountain of those and it's doubtful you're an isolated case.
  7. There have been a few come into PC. I've had the flatline out while bottom bumping and the highly endangered red snappers are eating it before I get to see if there are any kings around.
  8. I think I might try to cruise for a cobe on Fri.
  9. Hey Wiley, I have a fair amount of lag here and nowhere else. Seems esp bad when I'm scrolling down.
  10. Thanks guys, I think I'm going to try the seals, the shaft looks perfect, and although I haven't checked the price, it has to be better than the whole cylinder. Thanks for the tip on the spanner wrench and the estimated time.
  11. I've had some play in my steering and just topped off when necessary with fluid, but last trip I pretty much lost all steering in the course of the day and made coming back kinda hairy. I've noticed some fluid coming from both sides of the cylinder that pushes the motor from side to side. I assume there are seals in there that have gone bad, but would appreciate any advice from someone who's been down this road.
  12. Oh jersus, here we go with the wheel pushers again.
