  1. Where do you plan on doing most of your boating and how many people will you normally have in the boat? Is this for fishing or just family playtime? Also what is your budget?
  2. Rejex or Woody wax both are easy to use and work well. Woody's will even send you some free samples, enough to do your whole boat to see how you like it. Make sure you ask them for a sample of their boat wash too.
  3. Members on sites are not too open to first time posters bashing anything FYI. You would also gain more credibility with better spelling and grammar. It will be interesting to see responses from others on this one
  4. Very true on weighing more. One other thing that year Yamaha was a bullet proof basic 2 stroke and more than likely would be fine rebuilding. Now this is the big issue is what is considered rebuild? Everyone has a different opinion. Sure hone out cyl's, new rings, brngs, new reeds and gasket set. Overhaul carbs, new plugs, water pump complete with housing. Replace any wear items, and change all fluids and lubricants, filters. One other thing I might do is to replace all the fuel lines. This could be done for a reasonable price just check around and check some references better yet see if you can find someone to recommend you to a LOCAL rebuilder. There are some bad ones out there so best to check with BBB and especially Here before you commit to having your motors done with them. In all honesty this is probably the way that I would go after sitting on it over night.
  5. I think if you look at the new 4 strokes as a how much fuel stand point you won't buy them. Looking at what you have to rebuild properly depending on what they need would probably cost you around and I'm guessing here $5-7500. You could also look into a pair of later model gently used outboards for the $8-10,000 range and might actually be money ahead especially since you would have outboards around 10-15 years newer or more. Might want to check around and see what is available used first. There are always some well taken care of pairs on THaT other site for sale with good prices from members that have been there a long time.
  6. Such a huge loss of a great guy and advocate of the fishing world. A brother that will be truly missed but never forgotten. RIP Jose
  7. DAUMMM Looks like his forearms have extensions in them.
  8. Glad to hear it Tim. I just had a fusion on my left pelvis to my SI joint 3 weeks ago. They put 3 titanium pins in there. So far I'm not having the lower back pain on my left side that I use to have. I'm thinking this was the answer. Now to have the right side done May 14.
  9. I've heard of this product but never used it. To me it makes no sense at all and only goes to the thought if used on a prop would create more slip. I say this because when you "lab" a prop you are roughing up the surface so it bites better. So in short polishing a prop isn't a good thing IMO. Now as far as the other metal surfaces I can agree it would help there to prevent growth.
  10. SCAngler do you realize he is talking about a 17' boat with a 40 on it to cross about 8 miles of open water? I'm not so sure this is a good idea. Under powered more than likely and doesn't sound like he has on the water experience. I'd keep looking for something in the 20' plus range with at least 150-200 HP for this type of application. You never know when the weather will turn snotty. Can you post some pictures of this boat and give a little more detail of your boating experience?
  11. Cool video for sure but they are not under water. At least i don't think so. I just wonder why they are spending the time and effort to do this
  12. Joey once again you are still proving you are still an asshole!
  13. So I guess it looks like Menzies "trusts" his ole buddy Joey.
  14. Menzies do you know what happens when you ASSUME
  15. Menzies did you actually look at the date? It was October 29th
  16. Funny, After leaving here and going to my Facebook page who should I run into but Chris Lambert the owner of WaveAway. I've invited him to join here so you guy's can talk to "the Man" about his product.
  17. Probably best just to replace the pair. Oiling usually dosen't get that far into the cable to do any good.
  18. Go have a Dr cut them off. You don't need em anymore
  19. OH and Joey you are a self centered POS and don't care about anybody or anything accept YOU! Heartless, Gutless FUCK!
