  1. Nope, found it the hard way, on my own. The "L" is stamped on the casing under the zinc tab.
  2. Is there a way to distinguish a standard rotation lower unit from a counter-rotation unit from the housing? For example, are there any stampings, markings, or tell-tale signs on the casing, or within the prop shaft opening/hub?
