Has anyone here used one of those solar panel chargers that you connect to the battery. I think they are like a trickle charger so that you battery does not drain down during the day. How are they. Do they work OK. Anything that I should be aware of. I have been thinking about getting one for when I go out on the water.

Mr Robalo Thanks for all of the advise I got up in the boat the other day and looked around. Yes there is one seat that is already cracked and split. I pushed on the other and there were no Cracks, splits or anything like that. I still need to look over some more of it to make sure. Will that 303 stuff help to reverse the drying out if there are not cracks. If so I think I may be able to save it. I also have an Outboard. It was properly rinsed with fresh water at home after I pulled it out of the water last time I used it. I just need to give the motor a once over to make sure everything is good. Thanks again for the advise. Like I said I am new at this and I am trying to get things right.

Kinda new at the boating fun, and need some pointers on maintenance. OK I know that I should have put some kind of cover over my boat seats while it was sitting in the yard. BUt I did not. My question is, is there any way to save the material which is brittle and breaks, or is it a lost cause and I need to learn my lesson and get new seats. I have a new captains pedastal seat that I need to put in but the other two seats are brittle and I think that I will most likely have to replace them. Is ther anything else that I should check when getting my boat ready for the water.
