  1. In the islands, that would be breakfast, with a Red Stripe instead of the Bud....and maybe ackee instead of the little green bushes...... :P Good job, Jim. Looks like everyone got fed. Our Jack Russel eats for days lapping up around the cleaning table!
  2. Thanks, guys. Those pics look like they are from another planet compared to what we see down here. Good job!!
  3. In my part of Florida, the geriatric set has a firm grip as the most populated. Recently while behind the grandfatherly ol gent in front of me it took all I could muster to stay calm and not try and "help" him along. He was paying and started patting his pockets and a look came over him. The frown turned to a smile as he retrieved his teeth from his shirt pocket and moved them to his shopping bag. I just smiled......
  4. Welcome, Wally and I am sure you are going to like the area. I would say love, but for the first time in many many years, more people have left Florida than moved here! Oh well, we can make that another topic for another day! Depending upon where you launch, you can always find fishable water for that boat. Heck, in the summertime it can get so calm that a trip a few miles offshore is reasonable. For the most part, you will have no trouble gathering up a boatload of fish in the inshore waters. Just check out a map of the Tampa Bay area and you will see many many areas a smaller boat is an advantage over a bigger one. But just give it a few years and 2 foot-itis will set in and that grouper bite will come calling and my oh my how we change our tactics! Anyway, good luck and let us know when you're down. Many of us fish a lot and can show you the ropes.
  5. We are having two dealers advertise on craigslist here for bottom painting for $29 foot...
  6. Our local paper reported today that two boaters from Land O Lakes, Florida (N of Tampa) were found safe by the Coast Guard. The two boaters were in the Bahamas when their 25' boat capsized. Their EPIRB was activated and the Coast Guard dispatched a plane from Miami. They were not located that night and a helo was dispatched the following morning and found the two men clinging to a rock. A nearby pleasure craft was vectored in and made the rescue. The men's condition was not known. Much better result than from the 4 football players. Not much detail was given, other than they were off Andros.
  7. Hey, Josh..how goes it?? The kings are still south of us. From what I am hearing they begin to thin out a bunch as they head further north. I hear they start heading more westerly on their trek up to the La, Tx oilwells. I don't hear much about a kingfish bite going on at the other forums either. At least not for us....
  8. HAH!!! LOL That's good...keep it up and someone from THaT site will be in a bidding war to get you back over there..
  9. The value of that 80 is around $500. That could get you at least four TLD 25's which I feel are one of the best all around 30 - 50 # reels for the money. Now if you are thinking of donating it to a good cause...it just might be something I am interested in!!
  10. You have some options. You can come on here and start a thread that, personally I feel, no one here is too interested in seeing or having posted. That type of post does not meet the tone or intent of this place. There are other forums where your post will start the holy war of manufacturers possible demise and all kinds of folks will jump in. Or you can pick up the phone on Monday and ask the Pro Line folks personally. Their number is 1-800-344-1281. Have a good day....
  11. What a bunch of cr@p...we who have been around this and other forums know of the character of the OP. I suppose there may not be a lot of us out to buy a $100K boat. However, I found his post informative for those in his shoes. You however have come aboard to complain about his supposed whining, egos, feelings, etc. I don't think there is anyone here who could give a damn what you have to think or say. There are other forums that you can undoubtedly get a whole host of supporters, followers and hangers-on to support your dismal cause. But probably not here......take a hike.
  12. Here's lookin at your "Land Yacht"......
  13. Sweet...you can join our Wednesday 4-some any time you get down here!!
  14. I'm working on him, Gus. He is just getting his 6 pack license. He has a ton of spots his family has been fishing for years. I am working on a trip with him in the next few weeks. I know a good bit about fishing this coast, but have never had the days this guy has!
  15. Damn...sounds like you're talking about the weather over here.... Many mornings, early, the seas will lay down a bit. But, after running out for 1-2 hrs we start getting 2-4's. After the football players incident we are a lot more cautious and won't stay out. Makes for kind of a crappy day... day after day after...
  16. OK..I'll bite...where are you and how much do you have??
  17. Great offer, Ludicrous...... Sure wish I was down south a ways. Hope someone speaks up and comes aboard. Good luck!! By the way, my biggest fish (9' hammerhead) was caught, brought to the boat and released...alone! No camera, no witnesses, but a really good memory of the over two hour fight. Caught off the Sarasota m7 reef.
  18. Well, looks like it's gonna be a car weekend....install rebuilt head on 1275 midget. Work on intake and Weber carb. Clean up engine compartment...TR-3 project on back burner. When o when can I boat again???...That was directed to Momma, her MG is getting the head work and carb....
  19. Take your trailer and put cardboard or lots of newspaper under the springs. Pour old motor oil all over them and rub it in. Use new oil if you don't keep your old oil around. Spring steel acts like a sponge, that's why salt water eats them up like crazy. If not too far gone, this treatment will prevent further rusting. Repeat once a year. This tip came to me from a trailer repair guy over twenty years ago. I have never replaced a leaf spring.....
  20. Wow, that's a good read. I will continue to use Seafoam as a treatment to decarbonize my motors, but won't be adding any more to the tank. Thanks for the link and a heads up!
  21. Good luck. Tried that once and two days later said feline was back cruisin the neighborhood???
