  1. Hey, Guys. I got my own gear, some dead bait and my Wal Mart credit card...if you need a third?? And you must be thinking of somewhere else. It won't get deep in a hurry up here....
  2. Looks as if these folks may be candidates for the forums BBB. Granted, there are only two posters with some experience, but lets see how nates motor and dealings with them turn out.
  3. Permatex sells a headlight lens restoration kit that works great on acrylic headlamp lens. I think it may work on that scratched windshield...
  4. Great fish, Gordo. Yeah, we don't get them that size unless we wander a ways offshore. My name is Rick, and we fish out of Bayport, which is just West of the Weeki Wachee attraction. Hwy 50 west of US 19 will put you there. Great ramp with no pressure. On plane in about 5 mins. BUT... a long @ss run to get to deep water. I have ventured to 32 mi. out in my KW (20') and it is only 58' . I have some rocks that regularly turn up good size, legal grouper. However, lots of the inshore rocks are showing good fish this time of the year. Lots of mixed bag fishing during the spring and summer. Some inshore spots will have big trout, mackeral, small shark, small grouper, mango's and cobia. Just got my bestgpsspots chip loaded last week and am looking forward to trying some newer places.
  5. Hell....I figured if no one else would bite........
  6. Dang...beat me to it..gonna ask if those were "safety flops"....
  7. Hey, Big Al...I'd post a link, but would probably lose my membership over it!! :P Let's just say it was a place for discussion and arbitration.....on another forum that Wiley had begun and sold a little while back.
  8. One more of those DUI's and that kid wouldn't be driving for a year in this state. Yeah, I wasn't a saint either, but I never held up the local 7-11. I did get a minors possession and arrested at 17...the ol man refused to come get me. My friends dad showed up the next am to get me out. That only had to happen once. Maybe this kid just got a wake up call and will straighten his @ss out. The wife drove school buses here for about two years. Middle grade kids are the worst. Also the parents. "Not my little Johnny" was their war cry. They could not believe he would actually show the little girls around him the size of his....well, u get the picture. It took forever to get these little monsters bounced off the bus....and the wife was literally afraid of reprisals!
  9. Great job!! And if someone is looking for a neat sprayer, that compact unit is great for small jobs. please show or print the name of that unit...can't remember who makes it, but have used them in the past..
  10. I have followed this guy on another forum and he always seems to put a lot of meat on the deck. These are some great pics from a few weeks ago... http://forums.saltwatersportsman.com/showthread.php?t=563648
  11. A linesman's job is tough work and a hard job. Nobody likes having their lights go out....also you guys do a great job of showing up in tornado or hurricane country and pitching in with what needs to be done whenever it needs done. Hope you have a good nights rest and can get back on the boat soon!
  12. Greetings, 'sport. Member 2325 has a nice ring to it! You will have a fair bit of company over there on the East side. Ditto the waaaayyy too much. Welcome aboard!
  13. Heat gun, nice wide plastic scraper and some goof off. Good luck!
  14. Here is what all the hoopla is about! http://www.bigshipwrecks.com/
  15. Greetings, and welcome! You gotta go over to the "Gulf" forum and contribute a bit on your fishing from Mexico Beach. Good to have you on board. Rick
  16. You didn't say whether it was stainless or aluminum. We just had a thread about some of the better suppliers for us and several have been mentioned. You may want to check out some of the m and inquire. Most aluminum with hubs can be had for around $120. Stainless can start around $280 and go way up there. If you are usually boating in an area with rocks, oyster beds, etc. it will be better to use aluminum. Sure is a lot cheaper getting one replaced or repaired instead of a lower unit or prop shaft. Good luck!
  17. Hey there Les...just sent ya some pics of our little tinny a few weeks back.... Name is Rick, I fish out of Bayport Florida. Good fishing both offshore and inshore. Gotta run aways to get to deep water, but the inshore rocks hold lots of grouper. Very little pressure and the ramps are always easy to launch from. We head north from here to get to Homosassa and big flats that hold everything from Tarpon to gator trout to reds to cobia. We have a big scallop run that starts July 1 and runs into September. We introduce a lot of our younger family members to the water that way. Usually 4' - 6' and snorkel gear is all they need. My boat is a 20' KeyWest DC with a 150 Yamaha. We also fish inshore around the Harris chain of lakes in a 16' Blue Fin with a 50 Evinrude. My sideline is buying and selling saltwater gear. Wrapping rods and rebuilding reels. Alan Tani is my hero! Retired last year and really enjoying fishing and boating the Nature Coast...
  18. Great pics. Thanks!! Makes Gulf fishing look a little lame.....the ling remind me of when the 'cuda show up and snag a bonita or two!
  19. Interesting...can they be used with a transom saver or a block of wood used as a saver??
