  2. Welder, While I agree with your "mean" comments regarding the use of the word "cash" during a negotiation, I must disagree with you in this instance. I went to Sea vee, looked at the boat and began to look for financing. No agreement on price, I just needed to get financing to begin the negotiation. I was told that based on my Tax records.....that I have less than a snowballs chance in hell of getting financing. So, I did some soul seraching..figured that if I could get the boat for 75k, I would be happy parting with it. I would later add electornics and other stuff, kinda a project boat but a new one, not fixing someone else's mistake. So, I offered the 75k. Financing is tighter than it has been for a while. I do well financially, but I am no choir boy so I cannot get financing. I sincerely appreciate the advice and I am still looking...I am moving towards a used seahunter with triples that may go for that, it is the 2005 model so it is not as desirebale as others, but I will sea trial it see how I like it.
  3. Thank you much for the guidance, the boat show is coming to Miami here soon, so I may be able to work a deal there. U da Man by the way! That invincible is bad ass. Outta my range man, but BADASS. Nice boat. I offered Sea Vee 75k Cash for the boat. No finance, no nada. Been savin and I made the offer. I called the guy about 3 months ago when he first got the boat back, apparently they made it for a charity and then bought it back, but I called him and he said 90k, now its 95k. When I sent him the offer, he said thanks, but 95k or GFY basically. So, Im in a bind. I feel the boat is not worth much more than 75k. Limited rod holders, no electronics, you know, an entry level Sea Vee. I mean it will get me out on the water, and I have a friend who can hook me up with more rod holders and other stuff, he works at a Local Boat Manufacturer so I get hooked up, but what would you suggest paying for such a boat (Sea Vee).
  4. I have been bantering with friends regarding the boat as well. They beleive that the twin 225's may be a tad underpowered for the 29 sea vee. I also have been told that the 85k for the boat is too much. No electronics, NADA, the only benefit to the boat is that it is brand new. Sea Vee is, or has been, unwilling to negotiate the price of the boat, hence my comment regarding their friendliness, very cut and dry, kinda F-Off if you dont like it attitude. So, I am still looking...found a 35 Seahunter with trips for 99k on Boattrader, its an 05 but Im sure he will negotoate that price, and the boat is loaded. I cannot thank you all enough for the advisce....the more possibilitues the more confusing...I havent ruled out contender either, I know the older 27's had/have a little ride problem but what about the 31's...they good?
  5. It is a 29 Sea Vee powerd by twin 225 Mercury Optimax, trailer, new 100k. Nothing else, very bare bones.
  6. Thank you both for the response. I do not know the answer to the question you aked regarding DTS for the Opti's? I dont know what that is. Second, I cam concerned about potential resale value with the 2 strokes, the boat is a Sea Vee and I love the brand, but the 2 strokes are fraskin me out a little. I must say, Sea Vee folks are not half as friendly as the Seahunter guys...I am kinda pulling away, but it is a decent deal. Im close...I wanna do the right thing, its almost 100k....so Im being smart I think. I have to say if the boat had 4 strokes I may have pulled the trigger aleady. My concern is that the boat was designed for 4 strokes heavier motors.....so I am worried that the two strokes ay force me to use trim or whatever...thats where I am at.
  7. Hello, I am new to this forum, been on THT...gonna see how this works! I have run across a brand new boat at a decent price...the issue os the boat has twin 2-stroke optimax's on it. 2009, boat, 2009 motors...dont know of I should aggressively go after this boat or back off until a 4 stroke deal is available. Any help would be appreciated...29 foot Open Fish. Thabks
