  1. Hi folks, There are some guys who are having success coonstripe shrimping off the coast of California, in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. This is relatively shallow water shrimping that is in 100-200' of water. I'm trying to better understand coonstripe shrimping and am gathering up as much info as I can so I can write an article on how to catch coonstripe shrimp. The guys who are having success are using a variety of shrimp traps such as Protoco Shrimp Traps, Ladner's etc. And some guys are piggy backing their shrimp traps on their crab traps/pots and fishing them in areas that I wouldn't think would be all that productive, such as sandy and muddy bottoms void of structure. Curiously everything I read about coonstripe shrimp suggests that they love structure. Infact Coonstripe shrimp are also known as Dock Shrimp. Any one on this board catching Coonstripe Shrimp? If so please share the details. 1. depth 2. bottom type 3. nearby structure? 4. shrimp trap info 5. bait 6. any other useful info. In the end I'll be writing up the article, and creating easy to understand graphics for everyone to enjoy and to make Coonstripe Shrimping a no brainer. Will branch out later and include shrimping for Spot Prawns, Crawfish and Dungeness and Red and Rock Crabs for these waters. Perhaps I can be talked into writing the same how to for other areas. Here's the beginning of my article: http://www.fishyfish.com/coon_stripe_shrimp/how-to-catch-shrimp.html Feed Back!!! STeveoh
  2. Yep, that's where she spends most of her time on water. In the Pacific Ocean just out the Golden Gate in San Francisco. You can build one too! Life is Good! Steveoh
  3. We camped out this past summer on my Tolman Skiff Jumbo for the first time. This is at Lake Berryessa in California. Was a total hoot! STeveoh
