  1. thanks Kelly, boat just went under contract, so I think my friend will miss on this one. Lots of boats out there though Thanks
  2. Can anyone give me any information on a ChrisCraft Concept Cuddy 27 feet with twin 5.7 Volvo efi's? My neighbor just asked me to go look at the boat, and he is considering making an offer. Offer will be contingent on a hull and engine survey, as well as sea trial. Asking 19,600. Boat looks solid, and well kept. Can anyone give me any information/watch outs on the Hull and the Volvo's?
  3. I just got done hooking up my new SH Eclipse to my older 76c. or what I do, it is a great solution, and I just love the damn 76. bigger screen would be nice some day, but I have never had an issue with the 76. I sued it in my old boat, on my kayak, and now on the new boat. I am still looking for a good connector that I can hook and unhook for the nmea wires ( I need to be able to remove the Radio, and the NMEA wires are hard wired into the radio.
  4. So i finally got to get the boat on the water for a serious run, and I loved it. Tabs will be great (I will install next weekend). I wonder if anyone could weight in on my prop question Currently running a 13-3/4 x 17 stainless steel prop (three blased) on a 21 foot steiger craft. Half tank of gas (30 gallons) 260 lbs of gear. Runs at 4800 RPMs and 38 mph (gps) wide open.. I have no idea what the yamaha is speced to run at WOT, and I cannot find anything online. Engine is a 1993 Yamaha 2 stroke 150 HP. The regular version of this boat weighs about 2100 lbs. This is a comercial version, but I don't know how many lbs that should add to the boat First time out, and it felt great to me (though tabs are going to make it perfect), but I thought I would see around 6000 rpm. Engine didn't feel like it was bogged down at all. Anyone have any insights or suggestion?
  5. I am looking for the parts now, and I plan on running both until I know it is fixed. For muying a trunkey boat, I am sure spending some cash getting it my way (second bilge, larger tabs blah blah blah. I just reseated the captains seat post, and it came with one of those single seat leaning posts. i am giddy with excitment. Now if we could just get the rain to stop, I can add the two new rod holders. God i love this Thanks for the advice
  6. Thanks for all the replies. I will probably run the premix through the summer, then have someone re fit the oil reservoir. I will try some fixes myself, but the idea of botching the oil hook up and frying the engine makes we want to have pro do it.
  7. I am in the process of going over my brand new (ok new to me) 1993 Steigercraft . yamaha 150 was converted to premix by the previous owner, due to a hole in his oil line, and on the advice of his mechanic. Is there any downside to running the premix through the Racor Filter? Also, i will be messing with the idea of re installing the tank. I have the oil tank in the boat, but I have been told there is a resevoir tank in the engine (yamaha 150) that has been removed. Should I try and reinstall the oil delivery system? Edit..... Damn W that might be the slickest image attachment tool I have ever seen
  8. so why would the monster ship builders prefer one engine to two? It wouls seem like having an extra engine/screw can only be good if trouble strikes
  9. can we have trouty back? please?
