  2. Unless the guy who gaffed it is 8' tall I say BS.

Sunday night I returned from La Paz, BCS. While there I caught a 39#13oz dorado, it was well over 4 feet long. My boatmate caught one 35#8oz and it was bigger than the video fish. One of our group got one that weighed 48# and was over 5 feet long. I'd put that beauty around 30 pounds.

I'll post pics later if I can figure how.

BTW, out here in the West we call it "Tall" cotton but it still means what we be doing while we're in it.

  3. Friends of mine fished with the same guide the week before you. They got halibut of 92 and 141 pounds. They only caught a couple of salmon though. Salmon fishing has been very spotty so far this year almost everywhere in AK.

I'm towing my boat from the SF Bay Area to northern-most Washington, Seiku, next week. We'll be fishing the Strait of San Juan de Fuca for salmon and halibut.

    Thanks for your post.

  4. I just sold on Ebay a Penn Intl 80 that I bought new in '83 and never had line spooled on it, I got $435 plus shipping. The Buyer is going to create a piece of art using an 80, 50, 30 & 16. He promised me a photo when it's finished. I'll post it here when it arrives.

  5. "Like they are no longer linked to THT and would be interested in ReelBoating?"

    Menzies,

Bennett Marine is in business to do business. I'm sure they take no side in any perceived conflict that exists in your mind. Please lighten up on the passive/aggressive stuff, Tabman is a champion to many of us. I'm surprised Marvel hasn't done a comic book with him as the Super-Hero.

My experience is Bennett builds an excellent product and backs it up with customer service and support that is seldom encountered elsewhere.

    With all due respect,

    Jon

Fishing out of my home port of Alameda in September 2007 I was lucky to hook and land this 40 pound salmon about 3 miles off the Marin County coast 8 miles north of the Golden Gate. This was my largest ocean-caught salmon in 400 trips out over the last 20 years.

The flavor of these large local caught fish is unbelievable, they hold for weeks in our coastal waters and gorge themselves on schools of anchovies and herring building up fat stores for the 250 mile swim to the spawning grounds. They stop feeding after entering fresh water so they need to get chubby
