  1. Bloody Jack Vane

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

  2. Hello all. I purchased this jack plate back in December and have since decided not to use it on my boat. The plate itself is used, the pump, switch, and wiring are all new in the factory box. My 98 Yamaha motor wouldn't be able to take advantage of this plate due to the height of my water pick-up so I am just going to sell. The gentleman I purchased from upgraded to a 350 V8 so he bought a 4 inch setback, kept all his controls etc and sold me the 10 inch plate with all the new goodies.

Asking price on this is $700+ shipping.

New price on this is 998.95

No pictures currently but can take some if needed.

Plate is Located in Savannah GA (Wilmington Island).

  3. Hello all!

I have spent the last week or so cleaning my boat from top to bottom and have found some products that work exceptionally well! I thought I would give a quick run-down to help save others some time. It all started with an inquiry to have someone detail my boat.... I quickly found that I did not want to spend $3-400+ dollars to have my boat detailed. This wasn't a ridiculous price but I would just rather spend the money on gas and know I did it myself...

1.Waterline stains = a product called hull off/hull and bottom cleaner. The stuff is magic, orange stains wipe off with very little "elbow grease"

2.Dock rash= Acetone. I know this stuff is harsh, used very sparingly and removed all black stains from hull.

3.wax-polish= 3M Marine Restorer & Wax ( green label) for "Heavily Oxidized Fiberglass Finishes".

My hull/deck hadn't been waxed and buffed out in at least 2 years other than usual soap cleaning. WOW boat looks better than when I bought it.

    4. Bright work= WOODY WAX WOODY WAX WOODY WAX!!!!!!! WOW I cannot stress how easy this stuff is and how great it works! My T-BAG on my T-top had apparently created some pitting from negligence on my part to remove it occasionally and clean the stainless... You spray it on a cloth, wipe it on and come back and wipe it off, no scrubbing needed and the harder the stain= the longer you leave it on. It is even safe for non-skid decks and corrosion prevention. I do not know what is in the bottle but is is really impressive stuff. I even used it on a polished stainless sink in a bathroom at my house which had previously been avoided due to the pain it is to clean it. Now it is spotless and water stains are a non-event.

Disclaimer: I am in no way telling you to pour any of this stuff on your skin, sniff it, or add it to your favorite beverage and drink it. Some of the products I used were fairly strong and extreme care was taken in their application! Rubber gloves are not a bad idea. Please use you head when using these products.

Hope this helps narrow the search for what works!

P.S. I picked up most of these products from River Supply in Thunderbolt GA.

  4. I am no expert but if you have a primer bulb, have you tried pumping it a few times before starting?

I have a 10 year old Yamaha Saltwater Series 225 (ox66) with over 850 hours... Last week went to start the boat after storing it all winter, primed it and fired off within 2 seconds. Check the gasket on your fuel/water separator, it could be air in the lines somewhere and it takes a bit to clear the air in the lines and create vacuum. Again, these are just guesses.

Hope this helps and let us know what you find.

  5. I have been told it is bad juju to run the motor while using Yammyhas flush hose!!! Think about how much pressure you would need to circulate the water through the hose, head, and down into the foot... The impeller could become damaged running dry or without ample water . Again, this is not set in stone and I am not god.A trusted Yamaha mechanic told me not to put extra hours on my motor to flush it...

    Hope this helps.
