  1. The hooks on the top one look more like mine. Nice to see some lures that look like vetrans.
  2. It has been my experience that real war heros and medal winners don't like to talk about it much. Even if they do it is to long time friends a significant time after the incident. Most times you want to forget those times.
  3. I've seen them silver like that here in Jacksonville. Farther up the river the more copper they become. Sometime it is the way the light shines on them.
  4. It is possible the seats move foward. They seem kind of far back from the controls. Then too, fast and rough you might be standing up in front of the seat using it as a leaning post.
  5. The quote, ".....84 of the containers contain possibly hazardous materials." does not make the stuff toxic waste. Gasoline, paint thinner, and packages of drycell batteries, are all hazardous materials but not toxic waste untill your finished with it.
  6. You are going to need more hoists, firemen and landings. A typical highrise has a lot more people. Think how long it would take to evacuate 1,000 people with that. Also those tracks mounted to the outside of the building would cause some problems. It raises some questions from me. 1. Would this replace fire rated stairs..............Probably not in the US. You can get several floors down before the fire department arrives. Besides stairs don't need power and control compatability between the escape system and the fire department. They are also used for circulation. 2. how would this work with sun shades? ............ Energy codes are getting more stringent and many buildings require sunshades to make the energy claculations work. 3. Wind speed is greater the higher up you go. What is the wind rating on this thing? 4. What's to prevent john q public from opening that egress window when the escape pod is not there? 5. You want to trust your life to some cables stored on the roof and ignored? Even contractors on swing stages get a safety line. 6. Besides sun shades there are step back and step in building designs. You might have to make transfers on the step back buildings. 7. I'm assuming the fire department wouldn't lower you through a break out fire shooting out one of the lower egress windows. Fire rated plastic or not I'm not confortable with that.
  7. I suppose that y'all know that eaten trukeys, the big white dumb ones are "free ranged" when they get too big for the house. And "free range" is a loose term. They still get the same food just a big outdoor pen. Sometimes in the woods.
  8. I've had Firestone, BF Goodridge and Toyo tires on my Z-71 truck. The best wearing were the BF Goodridge(still on). I got the advertised milage on the Toyos. The quietest and smoothest were the Firestones.........the same model that was failing on the Exployers. OPf course I rotate regularily and keep track of the tire pressure. Then too highways and Florida sand is not as hard on the tires.
  9. Never good to loose a boat. But it sounds like they all survived and didn't have to swim for it. Around here somebody would be asking for the GPS numbers.
  10. I assume the live wells have a high speed pick up. What kind of chop can you maintain that speed in?
  11. "Blue Tarps" come different grades. Many of the cheaper ones fail after exposure to sun and rain. Look for thicker material and reinforced or welded seams. I ran away from snow.
  12. He's lucky to have all his parts still attached. You really don't have to climb anything just raise your hands high enough to be into the "arc zone". Perhaps his clothes were wet and the current fried the clothes. I wonder if this rabbit was small and grey/brown or was it six feet tall white and in the company of a pink elephant.
  13. If you are on guard duty every day of the year why would you think 9/11 would be so special? The last attack on the World trade center was 8 years ago and maybe the coasties running the drill weren't even in the CG back then. Since the first World Trade Center attack was February 26, 1993 why would we think they'd attack again on Sept 11th? They didn't have a trend on dates. Are we more viligant on February 26? I've been in Pearl Harbor on December 7th on a week day. Pretty much the same except for the memorial service at the Arizona. Of course they watch the radar screens a little closer, but they didn't always do that. Back when they had F-106s on duty they made intersepts but were focused on straight in one bommer attack. But that is off target. OK, I see y'alls point. But I'm not 100% convinced.
  14. This has been argued in full on a lot of forums. I suspect you really had to be there.
