  2. I don't have any first hand knowledge of them but you might have a better shot over at the wellcraftv20.com page as there are a couple people on there who have moved up to them. From all the stuff I have seen on them they sound like pretty good hulls but just like any other 30 year old boat you need to take a look at the deck, transom, stringers, etc. The sweet thing about them is there isn't another 25 footer out there that can sleep 4 like the wellcrafts can.

  3. If you know how to measure OHMs with a multimeter, you can check test the sensor. As cheap as they are, I would just replace it. Call Andy, he'll fix you up.

I will pull it off this afternoon. What should it be reading? I am assuming it will vary as the sensor moves. I just saw one sell on ebay for $30, which is a lot nicer than the $90 yamaha wants, hopefully I can grab a new one if this doesn't work out.

    BC-

I got it moving but still nothing on the gauge.

    Thanks for the help.

  4. Bought this to replace the teak one I have onboard but ended up redoing the teak because this wasn't going to fit without some modifications, so I don't need this. Its brand new, never installed and even has the keys.

$65 shipped, if no one wants it I will throw it on CL or ebay.

Ebay username is csvencer if anyone wants to check my feedback...

Measurements are on this page about half way down...

  5. I am compiling a playlist of good songs for our boat. I need some suggestions of what should go on my ipod.

So you have an idea of what type of music we listen to:

    ...

A couple songs by Corey Smith

    ...

What are some killer boat songs that need to be added to the cd?

Nice, I thought I was the only one who listened to him. He's got some good jams.

And I second "all summer long" everytime I hear it I wish I was on the boat having a beer.

Another great buffet song is "still in paradise" off of his live in anguilla album, which is a great 2 CD set in itself.

  6. Dan, see part number 1 and 3.

Part number 1 is the collar that mounts on the steering tube. They often break and are easy to replace.

Part number 3 in the actual sensor that gets moved by the collar. The sensor can get stuck and requires regular lubrication.

Hotspot - I have the same issue, no change in the gauge when I trim up or down. Could you post a shot of what I am looking at on a 150 2 Stroke (2002)? I am hoping it is just a stuck sensor but haven't figured out what parts I should jiggle/lube yet. Thanks.

  7. My boat has been in sweetwater for most of its life. It has been in the salt for the last two years. Will replace zincs next January and do a tip page for it.

    Thanks for the comments folks.

Man I wish you had a two stroke. Those tutorials are awesome, just not all apply. It is interesting to see how much more is under the hood for you 4 stroke guys. That thermostat change looks a lot trickier than doing a 2 stroke.

  8. If you want to put the receiver in the electronics box you can mount the speakers in the electronics box so you don't have to run wires all over the boat. The only downside to that is you won't get any bass out of the speakers.

Depending on the size of your ebox and quality (thickness) of the fiberglass they can help reproduce some nice bass. Only problem is when its open you lose it.
