I have an '88 Bayliner Capri w/ Chevy 3.0 and omc cobra outdrive. I had it out over the weekend and was performing fine until suddenly the water quit circulating. I pulled both hoses at the thermostat and no water pumping whatsoever. The water pump was not leaking or making any noises to indicate failure. I also pulled the circulation pump on the outdrive and nothing looks out of order there. I'm new at this set-up and don't understand the relationship between the circ pump and the engine water pump. Can anyone clue me in? ...and does anyone have any ideas about what went whack?
