  1. Sails and dolphin can be caught in 60' of water....~15 miles out...not a lot of them, but they are there. I've seen sails in 45-50' in the late summer. buddy already almost ran over two free jumpers on the way back in from the ledge...said it was in about 65' of water.
  2. caught four of these in the dip net, though trying to catch some flyers to rig on the kite
  3. Never made it to the other side... 20 dolphin ( we tried everything we could to get away from them) saw some tuna, but only landed a skipjack no swords for us....had a few swipes, but none hooked up. One shark cut off.
  4. we overnighted this weekend... I see you just about every other day...
  5. Anyone out of Charleston or SC, ever been? I think we might try this weekend... Gonna be interesting...
  6. That said, they are doing a lot to raise revenues due to lack of inflow from taxes.... they should still reduce it, though. I've never been to court for one and plead guilty where they didn't reduce it.
  7. if you don't deserve the ticket, and have money to waste on an attorney, get one If you deserve it, go to court...it is usually cut in half...both the points and fine I'd say go to court who is telling you to get an attorney to go to traffic court?
  8. ahah I was told who Randy is....small world
  9. Thanks....good looking boat. Still in the browsing phase, though.
  10. can you emaiil some pics to matty@hughesmotors.com can't see pic hosting sites and whatnot from work and rarely around a computer when at home.
  11. I fish a Bertram 36 Moppie often that is a good boat. Check those out if you get a chance.
  12. not to be an azz, but there isn't much of a trick to get dolphin to bite they will eat anything I've caught them on bare hooks, pieces of cut rag, squid, almost anything....when they are biting. Sometimes they don't, though.
  13. The dolphin fishing has been phenomenal lately
  14. My 2 cents.... why a flybridge if you have back problems? I would think you would most definately want an express with good curtains
  15. 28 Dolphin, tagged a Sail Fished a green/blue color change all day. Long, hot day....
  16. The 370 has some pretty f'n cool stuff, but I wouldn't buy a Whaler for serious offshore use. disclaimer: we have 3 Whalers with our offshore boat a 26' Outrage
  17. Only Topaz I have fished was a 1979 28' that rode very well for its size
  18. Never seen one of these in person, but look pretty neat Topaz Express Flybridge http://www.usedboats.com/boat-ad/display/ad_id/1445710
  19. Topaz 39 Royale first one I found, just to give you an example http://www.yachtauthority.com/viewer_boat_...hp?boat_id=7006
  20. Only thing I can think of is a Planer rod setup but, I would sell that thing on Ebay or the like and buy you something you really want/could use.
  21. AJ and some smaller beeliners/red porgies were payment to the guy that cleans our fish. Buddy was gonna dive, but we stayed too long trying for a wahoo on the ledge. Left the dolphin biting....against the captain's word so we could catch anything else besides dolphin. pic is from the next day after fish were cleaned and dropped off at boat.
  22. Ran out of Charleston to about 270' of water south and put out the baits. Stayed covered up in dolphin for the whole day. Caught 22, I think was the final count. Had a small blue or a huge white on for all of about 5 seconds...long enough to set the drag and have him jump across a few lines. Not sure if the knot was bad, but it was connected to an 80lb spro with 80' fluoro. I use a Uni to the spro and have never had a problem. Winds were light and the ride back home allowed mixed drinks to be poured at 25knts.
