  1. Here is my dilema. My outboard is too big for my boat in a couple of ways. When boat is in water 3to 4 inches of free board at stern.2 with 21 pitch prop I pass jetskis, and I am getting older the faster I go the more nerveous I get. Even with down sizing from 21 to 19 pitch I can run with jetskis. So I am looking at a swap for a 70 to 85 hp outboard with same style controls that I have on my Center console. That means Binnacle mount. For those that don't know Binnacle controls are mounted in the Center console .Not on the side with box and cables exposed.Contacting me is easy.My email is truklodyte@yahoo.com The boat being show was my restoration project she is very light 4 men can pick up boat and walk off with it without engine on it. I have used craigslist and all I get there is fraudulent offers with a website attached with a virus.
  2. I am help a friend out . He is selling his military rebuilt GM diesel 353 engine. This engine came out of a Gama goat. This durable engine can easily be changed over to marine use or put into a yard donkey for moving boats around. She currently has a GM(chevy)4 speed transmission on it. She is Aluminum block with steel head. She also has a small super charger on it as well.He would like $2000 OBO .Location Panama city FL
  3. Not really its mainly from your region to the new england states(maine, conn,RI,Ma,VT,NH) as well . Dow here in Florida its a different story .Alot of the people will have an old boat sitting for years in the back yard. The minute you show interest they want top dollar for it .I have seen many boats go to landfill because the price was so steep. They would rather pay the $30 a ton to landfill than sell it to you cheap. These are all sizes boat 10ft to over 50ft.
  4. Here is a Borum hull is very similar to horizon maybe from same mold..Top cover different.Still looking
  5. Ok if anyone is going to atempt doing a transom rebuild? Please go to the attached address. Join it and go to photos area first boat is my recycled boat the blue one all my pictures show what I did . Its easy and I was a novice at doing it. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FloridaPan-h...Fishingboating/ I can answer questions and suggest other styles of materials to use in repair or rebuild.
  6. older boats like mine either had a riveted plate with numbers inside boat on transom or stringer or someplace that is not readily seen.
  7. Rick what I did find out is it is a racing Ski boat Hp rating is apt to be high.
  8. That looks like a boat a friend has .The seats are also incorrect.Ther should also be a spot for a hot foot pedal.I will email him and get what I can from him.
  9. Joe average will be the one restoring or rebuilding their boat so labor cost has no real bearing. The person that is paying to have their boat remodeled would be the people to sell your product to.As for the product I represent it can be for commercial and residentual applications.MunuteMan Boat lifts of Plymouth mass http://mmbhe.com/listings/class_search.pl?...=DOCKSIDE+LIFTS As for cost It is cheaper than your product as Joe average goes.A lot of manufacturers and suppliers of high density foam products will deliver directly to customer.
  10. There is a cheaper way of rebuilding stringers and transoms. Without using wood.It is called high density foam.Highdensity foam will take screws and overlaying of glass as well. Not to do your product any wrong but a lot of projects are scraped when cost over runs the price of boat. example here is a rudder for a 28ft sailboat made from Highdensity foam.
  11. LAst year had electric fuel pump on boat worked great until the ethyl alcohol ate pump.So I rebuilt the fuel pump on motor worked for about and hour then lost half of throttle thus lost speed.Carbs were rebuilt last year. Looked for vaccum leak none detected .She is the 4 cylinder model with idle speed she runs on two cylinders..Please give a clue to whats going on?
  12. WHAT ?IF YOU DIDN'T LIKE MY POST JUST SAY SO!
  13. let me show you how my friends resourcefulness takes place. Here is a 25ft aquasport with inboard diesel. One problem aquasport never used Diesels or inboards.I am also showing the original V6 185 johnson he took off.Recycling is still the best option. Necessity is the mother of invention. Most push mowers that end up on the side of road need sparkplug, airfilter and a good cleaning.Simply buying one at a yardsale means you paid to much.
  14. Post pictures of boats with out Identification.Someone here may be able to tell you what it is. No manufacturer plate or numbers stamped into the transom on right side top corner near rubrail.Depending upon state(example Florida Altering boat 51% get retitled under homemade boat) Check with each state laws governing boats there is always a legal hoop you can jump thru with little or no extra payment.Leans and levies (ex) Storage fees unpaid, Abandonment no way to contact previous owner,) Again check with your state .Florida it can be easy and hard. Oddly enough a lot of boats were manufacturerd out in Arizona ,Arkansa because of dry climate. So you find some pretty wierd names.Molds for boats may have numerous manufacturers on the same boat. Please post pictures of recycled boats.Like these recycled projects My boat was manufactured in Arkansa for Gulf marine it is a 18ft gulf master,Century makes one, shakespear makes one,and the one big flats fishing boat maker makes one all from the same mold. The other is a recycled surf board
  15. Fiberglass boats cannot be made into reefs.Wood, steel and aluminum boats can be made into reefs. Just as cars it takes elbow grease to restore. We live in a throw away age. Here is an example I am a junk man I get paid to haul off what is called junk.Man buys new lawnmower because old one will not start.New plug and new airfilter and I sold it for $25.oo.For ten dollars in clean up previouse owner paid 180 dollars and got a new one.Throw away age Its not the way but the reason. Seriousely new car even a cheap one 12,000 dollars a 20 ft boat will exceed that.Buy a one to 5 year old car . A lttle work Maintenace .Same with a boat Maintenance, thats all it is .The average american doesn't know which end of the wrench to use so they let a little problem become a big one.Its time to change that attitude.I am mechanically inclined I can do glass work ,engine work and most of all I can read and ask questions .Most of you can do the same. The only reason I need a newer vehicle mine is dieing of cancer and is literally falling apart . It can be recycled by melting it down.As for a boat it can be cut and reshaped or disassembled and cut up for panels to use on another boat. Where my boat was rebuilt they did just that cut up a 25 footer to repair a thirty foot sailboat. Now for the boats without titles . If a mechanic seizes a vehicle without a title he can petion the state and get a title for it. Why can't they do it to some of the abandoned vessels along the ICW or coves.
  16. Sorry nothing that small. But I will check with my marine mechanic and see what he has.
  17. How many here still have the older boat ? Why go out and buy a brand new boat when it looses value as soon as it leaves a dealership. It can be very cheap to refurbish an older boat and to repower it to. Or go buy the boat that someone can't afford and are selling just to get rid of payments.Or just find a refurbished boat. I am not suggesting you do anything. If you can afford to buy brand new do so. When you drive down the road look at all the boats along the side of road with grass growing up around it and in it.Most of these boats are in very good shape just neglected.I drive a big truck and generally I can look over the high fences you would be amazed at the boats I see.In the back yards 30 ft or bigger just sitting because they don't have a vehicle to pull it or launch it. I am venting at what I see being an avid boater and rebuilder .Its ashame to see something go unused!
  18. Here is the converted sailboard to paddle board.Changed out long fin for short for going onto flats.
  19. Why is it so hard to get a merc 115 fuel pump rebuild kit with two right angle elbow for oil injection? The Kit for the single elbow being slightly different I can get all day no problem. As you can see the grey house coming in is the fuel in .The two elbows are the oil injection lines and on the right is the fuel line out. They put two different fuel pumps on this engine.Pictures shown is what I have. The other has a single injection line .
  20. I just resently converted a sailboard to standup paddleboard. Well it works just not with a 280 man standing up on it. I took a fall today on it and I have come to the conclusion that it needs to find a new home with someone 190 or less . I am in Panama city Fl. I am not looking for a dollar amount. I just want two saltwater fly rods w/reels preferably 9 an 10 weight float line and sink lines.Make not important.Or just make me an offer. email me and we can schedule a viewing. Thank you for your time.
  21. I am helping my elderly neighbor empty his yard of projects he no longer can finish all .Boats are located in Panama city.I will post them forsale in the forsale section.I am a packrat but he has me beat hands down .Here is some pictures just to show what he has got going on.Put it this way his house looks like a marine repair yard. There is engines, outdrives(merc, volvo, etc)in the spare bedroom of house,a bunch of sailboats from 22 to 45ft,cabin cruisers 4,bow riders 2 now, parts galour. The house boat is longer and wider than it was manufactured to be. Cabin is high density foam .For foam construction it is strong like steal.
  22. 35ft chris craft with twin 6.2 liter diesel GM.V drives.Vessel is located in Panama city Fl near pretty bayou.Boat is equiped with marine AC so she is cool and comfortable. She is set up a day fishing.Sorry trailer doesn't go with boat. Boat is currently in dry dock with engines out for engine room refit.Engines can be bench run upon request.Price is $30,000 The way she sits .If we finish refit price will go up and she will be in the water at a higher price.
