  1. REPLACEMENT WINDOWS Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with that expensive double-pane energy efficient kind, and today, I got a call from the contractor who installed them. He was complaining that the work had been completed a whole year ago and I still hadn’t paid for them. Hellloooo,............just because I'm blonde doesn't mean that I am automatically stupid. So, I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told me last year, that in ONE YEAR these windows would pay for themselves! Helllooooo? It's been a year! I told him. There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally just hung up. He never called back. I bet he felt like an idiot.
  2. You can call yourself Captain when your wife (The Admiral) says you can, and not before.
  3. Not anything that I can say that will help, but please accept my good wishes. Nick
  4. I'm happy that some have no problem with a salt water license but I do. I am fortunate enough to have a small boat that I use mainly to fish but I also use it to socalize. This license means that if my sister and her family visit me, I can't take them fishing without first securing an out-of-state license for them. Please understand, I am not talking about die-hard fishermen, they may only fish once or maximum twice each year. I have others in this same scenaro, a grandchild over the age of 16 (I have 4 in that group), a family friend or two. This whole thing of taxing and regulating God given resources in this manner stinks. This is as polite as I can put it. To me, I have lost my liberty. I would like to know how others handle this as I am sure that I am not unique in this sense. I am at the point that I may just give up my boat and fishing after more years than I care to enumerate. Nick
  5. About 5 years ago, the administrator in the group that I work with was chokeing on her food and turned to the the manager for help. He came to this damsels rescue and did the Heimlech manuver which on the 3rd try forced the food out of her throat. The kicker is, the next day she went to each of us in the lab to tell us that "He did it wrong because her ribs hurt". Forgive me, but I could only think that she was partially wright, he did it wrong, he should have left the morturary handle it. Now after reading the "Red Neck Hind Lick Maneuver" I have to re-think this whole thing. Could it be that the old geeser knew what she wanted? He did do it wrong, had he done it correctly he would have to have his tongue cut out afterward. LOL
  6. Hi I'm Nick from Levittown. I trail my 20' Proline, "Primrose" and launch most often from Wantaugh Park. My favorite site is Jones Inlet drifting for Fluke. The new regs are killing me. I'm a lousy fisherman and when they handy-cap me with these regs, they destroy me. This year I'm having a tough time making room for my boating. Got to set priorities, such as they may be. Well mabe like the ball game, better luck next year.
