  1. Yeah I'm pretty excited about that. And when he is around 10 he can mow the lawn and wax the boat.
  2. Thanks! Yes this will be our first. We were expecting last year but we lost it around week 6 which happened to be July 4th weekend. That July 4th wasn't very joyful but this one will be. The baby is due August 15th.
  3. Its a BOY!!! And I'm a MAN! Ok ok so I altered the original ultrasound pic, here is the original. The female ultrasound tech said it was an impressive size for 20 weeks. No doubt he is taking after me already.
  4. I have opened this thread probably 8 times. Man....what a pooper she has.
  5. Now you have done it! Don't you know that once you start one project that it leads to another project....then another....and another? Before you know it you are $80K into the boat and everything is completely redone and brand new. Oh no wait...thats me. But you're on the same track.
  6. Yes...March is a beautiful time of the year. The begining of spring and its already in the mid 80s here in South FL. Its a little windy though so the ocean is a little rough to go offshore. But nothing wrong with some intercoastal cruising.
  7. I use your standard lead/acid deep cycle batteries. I have 2 group 31 batteries and its more than enough power. And my boat is a power hog with the stereo system and electric head. I get about a year and a half out of one and a year out of the other. The house battery goes faster.
  8. I agree, no need to invite nonsense into this forum. However I am always open to hear from people that have actual experience with a product no matter what it is. Wiley....hopefully we won't need to use that.
  9. The real reason those engine threads get so out of control is because you have a few close minded people that come in and do nothing but talk crap about one brand. We know who those few people over there are. What these few knuckle heads can't grasp is that there is an engine to suite the needs of every boat and boater and no one engine fits every bill. But because the guy that hates a cirtain engine brand sees that an out of business magazine did a test years ago where one engine came in last he thinks its law and anyone that bought said engine can't possibly be happy with it. Then....when the owner of said engine posts his actual experience and results with the engine he is called a liar and a cultist. If everyone just sat back and compared notes from their ACTUAL experience instead of 5 year old he said she said nonsense there would be progress instead of multiple pages of "my Ford is better than your Chevy" and "my dad can beat up your dad" crap.
  10. You are never to late for a vs-vs-vs-vs thread. So where can we see the new video?
  11. Dusky Sport Center in Dania is a Suzuki, Mercury and Evinrude dealer and should have an ample stock of parts. http://www.dusky.com/
  12. Stumbled on a thread about it on THaT other forum. The thread no longer exists. However I did know about it well before it opened which is why I am wondering how I ended up as member 451.
  13. Yes, Sunday was actually a nice day as long as you didn't plan on going in the ocean. We went to John Lloyd (our Sunday routine) and had a few beers. It was a bit breezy but the sun was beaming.
  14. Dayummm! I think I need to excuse myself and go do a onejacker.
  15. LOL you are member 81 and I am 451. How did that happen?
  16. I agree with Mr Demenor on these additives, however I use Marine Sta-Bil every time I add gas. But as far as carbon removal goes, the water does seem to work. My first car was a 1978 Monet Carlo with a 305 V-8. It was running like crap so my dad who is a gear head suggests pouring a little water down the carb throat at a high idle. I looked at him like he was nuts. However I did it and it worked. The exhaust blew out tons of white smoke and the engine ran much smoother after. Though I wouldn't ever attempt that on these new outboards.
  17. I would agree with the lower unit thing, its always the weak point when making HP. Just like in cars the rear end is usually the weakest link. There are racing lower unts that can handle massive HP but these are massive surface piercing drives ard are super expensive. This will take 1200 HP
  18. Have you tried a high speed buffer and 3M Fiberglass Wax and Restorer? That stuff works wonders to bring the shine out. If that doesn't work then its to far gone for a simple wax job. Your next step is Poly Glow before a paint job.
  19. It hasn't friggin stopped raining all day! I need to get out of the house so I guess I'll go suck down a few beers and a steak at Outback. Its pouring again so I guess I'll have to wait some more. The flea market must have sucked today, glad I went yesterday. It was a beautiful day yesterday to....and now look at it. And of course around Wed or Thurs the stupid weather people said the weekend was going to be nice with only a slight chance of a sprinkle, And on the days they say its going to be a washout its a nice day. I would love to have a job that pays that much and also allows me to be completely wrong all the time! Ok I guess I'm done pissing and moaning about the rain. All I can say is that it better be nice tomorrow or I'll friggin.................stay inside again.
  20. Damn....its the first Saturday of spring and its pooring rain all day. Otherwise you would never see me posting at this time of the day.
  21. I sure as hell hope to get more than 2700 hours out of my E-Tecs, I'm at 1200 already and they still run like new. Though commercial use does beat them up a lot faster. Most of my run time is at idle or slow speeds so in essence my engines are babied. It seems to me though that according to the story Kern posted for us that the damage on the E-Tecs is easily preventale and easier to repair if it does happen. But once a 4 stroke swallows a valve resulting in a hole in the block its pretty much the end of the road. Good information non the less, but I am also curious about the guy in Brazil running E-Tecs for years on E-25 with no similar issues. Is it only the new engines like from 07 on? Because I have 05s and I have no issue with the fuel lines and Ethanol.
  22. If you look at the member list you will see that Glen is already a registered member.
  23. Sure why not. Big massive V16 CAT outboards. Think about it though, where will the HP stop in the outboard world? Maybe 450.....500.....600? My grandfather, father and myself have been boaters all our lives. My father looks at these 40' CCs with quad 300s and just shakes his head. If my grandfather were still alive to see these beasts he would crap himself. He used to tell me stories about this massive 1960 something Merc 90 that he and my dad bought. Look where we are now.
  24. Why stop at 400? Just go all out right now. Build a 1000 HP V16 so you can slap 2 of them on a 50 sportfish and gain some cabin space.
