  1. very nice!

can you explain why manufacturers or buyers would want a canvas top vs. a hardtop?

IMO, the hardtops look much nicer, a more polished finish look, quieter for crew when raining, and should last longer too.

Its just another choice. Canvas is less expensive, lighter and has more color options.

  2. Now that WC owns GB.. what is the difference in quality.. Did anything change in some of the tooling on the GB..meaning have the boats gone over a big redesign..small bottom changes or blueprinting..stuff like that or are they the same with WC behind them.. I understand that one is a semi and the other a displacement.. but what gives.. Thanks Guys.. Jeff

From the newsletter I got, its my understanding nothing has really changed. The GB is more for cruising, and the WC is more for fishing, but each will do both.

  3. Jassman,

It looks like it should fit fine. You may already have it figured out, but the easiest thing to do is loosen the bunks slide them in so they will fit inside the tunnel, put a 2x6 or 8 down on the I-beam and one vertically on the face of the bracket that supports the bunk and carpet them. Probably won't require two full 8' 2x's.

  4. I've had a Glacier Bay and I'll stay with my Sea Vee. I could not get use to the snap of the roll on a cat boat.

As far as contender, I would get a 3 year old Sea Vee before I would get a new contender.

    Just my opinion.

Just because you've ridden on one cat don't mean they are all the same. No more than v-hulls are all the same.

There are some cats that don't have the udesirable handling as seen in others.
