  1. Wiley ; Ludicrous

Thanks for all the pictures that were put on the Reel Boating Forum. Its good to feel like I'm part of the boat show when I could't go.

The Andros 32 with the twin E-tecs is my boat. These are the first pictures that I have seen of it since the hull was pulled out of the mold. Its

been a long wait and their are a few things that has to be finished before its ready to be shipped to south Alabama. Maybe in a week or two

I'll have it and can take it out in the gulf and get some blood on the deck.

Again thanks for the pictures and keep up the good work.

    Congratulations, she's a beauty

  2. Gentlemen, and Ladies,

I'm sure most of you have noticed the thread on the other site about the guy who had a quarter sized "defect" in his non-skid on the foredeck, and it has morphed into 3 pages of whatever, opinions, rants, explanations, etc.

You guys know who I work for, you also know that I've worked for several major builders over the last 15 years, therefore this type of defect, albeit not fun to deal with, is also part of the "process", due to the human element of boat building.

Wiley, Ludicrous, Auguste, ScarabChris, Welder, Blue Bayou, etc., what would you guys think if you took possession of your new boat and found a defect in the deck/hull? I remember when I took delivery of my '87 Maxima and, at 1800 miles, noticed a slight slipping in the tranny at about 70-75 MPH (yeah, I used to speed back then!). Took it back to Reed Nissan in Orlando, and it was found that some "plate" in the tranny was installed backwards from the tranny supplier in Japan (say all you want...) and the result was a new tranny at God knows what their cost.

I know you guys are members over there, and have seen this thread. What do you think?

BTW, just had to post on Reel Boating's new format...Totally Cool!

It's a double edged sword, dammed if you do, same if you don't. Boat builder finds defect and repairs it, owner complaints he wasn't consulted before doing repairs. On the other hand, if they didn't do the repair, then the complaint would have been something like 'builder had boat in the factory for x amount of time and didn't notice defect...' Can't win either way... Seems to me the builder in question is doing the right thing, may be a little better communication would have helped.

  3. Did a course of oral Lamisil twice. Worked like a charm, expensive, and always comes back. Topicals work if you are very patient and vigilant. Two Dr. buddies of mine recommended removing the nails. They guarantee a beautiful new nail will grow back, they can also guarantee the fungus will not be far behind.

I'm 50/50 with topicals now. One toe success, one failure. Still painting the stuff on and hoping for the best!

Do not have the nail removed! There are no guarantees. Lamisil works and it's now in generic and much more affordable. Still need to have blood work to monitor liver. Best treatment?-combination of oral and topical. Stay on the topical as long as you can afterward to prevent it from coming back. If girlfriend has it, both should be treated at the same time. One last thing, GROSS pic.

  4. Fuel Supply Module I believe.

From what I understand (and I'm not verado mechanic by any stretch), there is a little float/valve that controls the fuel flow.

Ethanol warps this float, and it can't slide up and down like it should.

Then it gets stuck in the position that tells the engine it has fuel, when in fact, the fuel is shut off.

The result being, you have 100 gallons of gas in the tank, but your engine is starving for fuel.

    Thanks

  5. Well, I had to replace the 2 Exide Nautilus plus batteries in the KW after 18 months of use. Went to the local Sears and bought 2 Die Hards marine/rv group 27 for $89 each. Lets see how they do...Question- the KW does not have an onboard charger, should I add one? Is that better than the 'marine' charger that I connect directly to the batteries? Or is it just more convenient?

    Thanks.
