  1. I think you need to roll her over and give us some more angles so we can better advise you.
  2. Never met the Baitkiller in person but he was very helpful to me when the last hurricane came across SW FL and I was looking at moving my boat out of harms way. He offered to go get my boat and haul it to a safe place at a very reas price. Turns out the storm swerved the other way, but I was very appreciative nonetheless. He just contacted me on THaT forum when I posted on a hurricane thread and offered to help. Seemed like a good guy.
  3. Hey Merc, haven't seen you around for a coon's age. Where you been? Wiley is not planning a political section, so we may not have as many opportunities to educate folks like Adam. Hell, we've boxed his ears so many times already though, aint no need to do it here. BCNU
  4. I was at Ft. Myers Beach that same week. Hope it was warmer in the keys. It hit 33 degrees one night while I was there. On the deposit, if it goes 30 days I would call them. I send'em back to my tenants within a week after departure.
  5. Nice. Wish I could be down there right now....
  6. I guess now we know that "w h i t e b o y" is a bad word too.
  7. Many (but not all) states requre a certificate of title for a boat just like an automobile. Those states also usually require that a lien must be shown on the title certificate itself to be "perfected" (ie, good against a bona fide purchaser -- you). If there is a lien, that is not necessarily a problem. Just make sure you get a payoff in writing from the lienholder, and make sure they are paid at closing and the lien released. Just like a real estate closing. In states that do not have a title law for boats (eg, Tn) it will require a UCC check, which will be done either centrally through the Secretary of State (usually can be done online) or locally, depending on the state. Good Luck!
  8. Naw Redneck aint no bad word. I am one part time. The rest of the time, I'm a smart-ass ######, to borrow from Lewis Grizzard. And Joe, on your original question, I once bought a 15 year old boat with v-drives pushed by twin Chrysler 318s. Never had the first sign of any trouble. I guess in my mind, the v-drives are simpler drive system. Less to go wrong. The biggest drawback from I/Os is that you cannot direct the thrust, but that's not such a big deal when you have two engines. My $0.02
  9. Hello FJ, glad to see you here. You may remember me from THT as Cat-a-holic. Sure do miss that photo depcition of farm life from your other sig. Are you gonna bring it with you here or have you got a new one planned?

  18. Haven't I seen you someplace before? Oh, and I second Kenergy's motion, nice to hear from you, La Gringa.
  19. Still here to help. You need me here as a counter-weight to Adam's politics. We all know Adam is not a real lawyer anyway. He's retired to his boat and keyboard. As I hope to be one day.
  20. I think I already saw her here---but her JUGS were not showing. I'm sure she'll bring'em out if she hangs around. Matter of pride you know.
