  1. I really like the boat since it is still a very tournament ready boat if you think about it considering they kept the large fish box up front along with the livewells in the back. "Frank", was the 340 LE at the show very well equipped? Any idea on what the performance was with twins?

The boat was well equipped but Sea Vee has quite a long list of options and the price I was quoted was for the base boat without the new leaning post and the pneumatic system. I feel it would be a great fishing platform its really not much different from the regular 340. I was told it topped out near 60 mph and it should cruise near 40 mph with twins.

  2. My dad and I took the week off this past week and a good friend of ours flew in from Missouri for the week. The weather looked good last Saturday for our first run out to the middle grounds so we went for it. We left the dock around 3 p.m. and hit our first spot about 95 miles out around 6. We fished all night catching grouper, snapper and amberjack. By the end of the trip around noon on Sunday we had filled two 150 qt coolers.

  3. I had a bad network box too. Would not power up anything, garmin replaced it under warranty

Keep in mind all, the GSD 10 is nothing but an ethernet switch. Further down the road, you can use a 5-port just like you buy at Office Depot.

But I would mount it in a dry box... :605_thumbs_up:

I thought about doing that. What I didn't like was having to worry about keeping it dry and having to use an on/off switch. The GMS 10 is an expensive switch but it is designed for the marine environment.

  4. DSP go back and read my post I think are getting are wires crossed. I never said he should setup a stripping RAID as a back up. I said that western digital drive could be setup either way and when it is setup as mirrored if one drive failed the other would drive would be an exact copy. I just didn't designate it RAID 1 or Raid 0 to simplify it.

  5. Western digital makes a series of external usb drives that are set up in a RAID. Its essentially two hard drives in one case that can be either setup to mirror each other or strip the info between both drives for faster performance. When setup to mirror the info if one drive fails the other has an exact copy of the data. Only downside is that it is big. Personally if you go the route. I would leave it setup on a desk at home and just use a usb thumb drive to move the pics to the inlaws PC.

In my business computer I use a Traven tape drive. I have about 20 gigs of info and I use 10 tapes which I rotate weekly and replace every 6 months. It backs up at night and it takes about 7 hours. Every morning I swap out the tapes which I keep at home in a media fire safe. I've been this for awhile and it works well.

With both it really depends on how much you need to back up.

  6. On my Dad's boat the spot light is mounted on the top. I installed the radar on a 12" raised base to lift the radar above the spot light. The spot light works fine on the t-top the only problem I have with mounting it there is that it tends to reflect of the bow. Mounting it as far forward possible would be best to eliminate the glare.

  7. Most of the day the USB adapter failed, always fun working with internet. Glad you got to see the Invincible tour with BB.

Were scrubbing the live broadcast for now but have great plans for it at future shows!

The video moved smoothly and the sound was decent. Once you get the bugs all worked out it should be a great feature. Very cool :605_thumbs_up:

  8. It just worked for me saw an Invincible. The guy went through the whole boat very cool. Did he say it had 10 batteries?

    Frank,

That was me that went through the boat. You heard right, there is space for up to ten batteries on the boat, 5 per side in the storage slots I showed. Glad you saw, that was the new 42!

    That's beautiful boat :2403_worshipper:
