  1. Second what spot said; especially the pics. What are you getting. Congrats.
  2. I second Mr Robalo!! Not sure I would call a Robalo a lite weight hull though; they are closer to tanks!!
  3. RBO down again. Trying to gather here: http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F...b51d13aef642875
  4. Second what he said!! A friend has a GW and it can't hold a candle to the Robalo
  5. I've added the reelboating forum URL to my signature page on the Robalo Boat Owners forum.
  6. That worked, thanks billiebob. I'm glad he's back but hope boondocks contines with what he was trying to do.
  7. Can't access it. Get a 404 not acceptable error.
  8. Wiley, Thanks for letting us piggy-back here for a while. I had several references to this site on the RBO as well as other members there. We will continue to promote this site on whatever form the new site takes. Thanks, again
  9. The RBO site is gone!! Come join us here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=173599505483 as Jerald (boondocks) tries to get a new owners site going.
  10. Not advisable. You will start getting "growth" after only a few days. In the timeframe you are talking about, the boat will need some expensive cleaning. I kept a boat in fresh water one season and never could get all the junk off of it. I can't imagine what a few months in salt water would do!!
  11. Most places do not have ethenol yet. When I see it on the gas pump, I go to another one, The Walmart in Gulf Shores off 59 may be best bet. Gas is up $0.25 in last week or so.
  12. We were bottom fishing a couple of days ago and had two swim by. One guy had his rig ready to drop back down but threw it at the dolphin-one on; another guy flipped a bait we were letting sit behind the boat-#2 on. If they are hungry, and when aren't they, they hit about anything!!! They are so easy, almost feel bad about putting them in the boat; yeah, right!!!
  13. Don't know about where you are but here wind/water still crappy, or words to that effect.
  14. I keep mine inside to charge and check weather forecasts. Through into ditch bag (which is also inside) and head for boat.
  15. Got mine today!! Can't wait to try it out in AM
  16. Get one of each!! That is what I did. I keep the EPIRB in the ditch bag and the PLB attached to my inflatable PFD. I like the idea of being able to use the PLB anywhere I go. How many times do you read of folks running of the road and not being found for days?? This solves that problem. I know, you all saying "it can't happen to me" but the folks it happened to probably would have said the same thing. Just my 2cents which is probaly worth nothing these days!!!
  17. Finally got out last Thursday but forgot to take coordinates of new bouy. Heck, turns out I didn't need them!! Was going out 180' from perdido pass and about ran over it. It's setting in 88 ft of water about 13 mi due south from the pass. I think it is in a great spot for our area. The one south of DI is ok if going to the rigs but this one gives a more accurate read for where most of us fish. Speaking of which, had a great day fishing about 20 mi S of the pass with an assortment of keepers and non keepers-mostly the endangered and elusive red snapper.
  18. I've posted on the Robalo Boat Owners forum. Members of other boat owners forum maybe could do same?? Good recommendation from a member there who has used for over a year.
  19. I just upgraded to a 4K array and hope that will let me spot birds so interested in howto set up radar also. Cspikr; you could start us off!!
  20. I'm for the autothether if we can do it soon. There was an example last week of a guy falling off his boat near Panama city,FL. Bet he wishes he had had one. Boat was found near Ft morgan, AL according to one post. With the wind and waves recorded this past weekend, that must have been quite a ride for an empty boat!!!!
  21. Sure makes one think of that wireless motor cutoff device; especially if you are prone to fish alone. I don't know where the cut off is for safety devices but there sure have been some bad examples this year that jusifies almost anything you can think of.
