Having been known to get into a few discussions of differing opinions myself, I will response as long as it is civil. My old radial Carlisles did well for a couple of years but started to get chopped up... I have since replaced them with Denmans and they have so far (about a year later) performed well and show no real wear... I would never use bias Carlisle tires..

Gringo, If my memory serves me correct they had some hull issues. Generally not considered near the quality as a Contender.. If you consider it just be very careful

I think as a back up to an EPIRB or PLB it would be fine but definitely not first line safety defense.
