  1. 1972 Sears Gamefisher with a Ted William 9.9, no trailer, just hauled it in the back of the pick'em up truck.
  2. Check this out folks. In NC, we don't know what we are buying and the blend is NOT REGULATED or TESTED by ANY STATE FIRM. More and more small engine mfgs are having to insert warranty verbiage such as this, just to protect themselves from thepoor fuel being provided to the consumer. This ain't propanes, IT IS FACTUAL.
  3. If this were just a normal mailing I would do that, but these are "Thank You" letters going out to all the Donors and Volunteers that helped make MAD 4 a big success.
  4. Looks like a NEW boat man, congratulations and good luck with her!!!
  5. Thanks Rusty, I will give them a buzz this morning.
  6. My Polar also had ballast areas to the far right and left. Have him remove those plugs to make sure he ain't carrying a bunch of water.
  7. I have a form letter I need to send to a list of 250 folks in an Excel spreadsheet. Last time this was needed, I did it myself. The printing, folding, stuffing, stamping sucks!!!! Any help is appreciated. Companies that do work for non-profits is a plus.
  8. I will be searching for a used SUV. My budget is $10k to $12k. I have found some nice 2003 Expeditions, Yukons and Tahoes. I am a Ford man, but I like the looks of the GMC and the Chevy. Need to 4wd too. I know nothing about trim packages on the Chevy nor GMC. This will be the golf trip vehicle, hauling stuff, grocery getter.......and eventually the boat puller. It will be required to pull the boat to and from the coast once a year. Thoughts?
  9. Absolutely. All you have to do is match up the Yamaha part number to the proper Racor part number. Andy at SIM Yamaha is your man. parts@shipyardisland.com
  10. 1) No problem at all. Be sure to use good quality brass fittings and a good thread sealer. 2) Primer bulb goes between the filter base and the motor. When you have used up those Yammie filters, get a Racor with a clear bowl. It will give you a better indication of whats going on with your fuel and allows you to quickly drain water from the system.
  11. Step by step, this is what I would do: 1> put some fresh gas in the boat 2> disconnect the main fuel line from the input side of the Racors 3> pump several gallons of gas out using an external pump, this will ensure you have removed any crap from the bottom of the tank, the pickup tube, the anti-siphon valve and the main fuel line 4> replace the Racor filters, be sure to put some oil on the gasket(s) 5> replace the primer bulbs (the Ethanol phase separated slime will eat the inside and cause the check valve to malfunction) 6> replace the engine mounted fuel filters 7> remove the VST tank, clean it, replace the screen, replace the o-ring 8> replace the F-Shaped filter That about does it. If you still can't reach the rpms you once could, more bad news, clogged fuel injectors. The good news is there is a place that can help: http://www.brucatosvs.com/fuel_injector.html They did wonders for my fuel injectors. Over time, they get clogged regardless of what you do. Sorry for your troubles, unfortunately, this is beginning to be a common occurrence. I am glad to help anyway I can: hotspot@bogueinletnc.com
  12. You should replace your Racors and the engine mounted fuel filter/water separator, the F-Shaped filter, and remove and clean out the VST replace the screen and o-ring. This may help: Yamaha F200/225 Maintenance Tips
  13. Not the exact same setup, but I had a 1998 Polar Skiff model 1996 (19' long 8' wide) with a Honda 90. The Polars back then were HEAVY compared to other skiffs (still had a lot of wood in them.) The boat would fly and I could have 4 adults on board and pull two tubes at the same time. Best I recall, the boat would plane in 2 to 3 seconds and ran right at 43 mph. I did raise the motor two notches, it was way to low from the dealer. A buddy of mine still has the boat and the Honda has over 800 hours now. Great motor. I was running a 14x19 stainless steel Rapture prop. How many rpms are you turning at WOT trimmed up with minimal load?
  14. Took her up to Jordan Lake Friday and Saturday. Gonna miss this girl for sure. Easiest launching and loading boat I have owned, partly due to how I have the trailer and straps setup. I replaced the house battery (EverStart Marine MAX29) and the starting battery (EverStart Marine 24) this past weekend, part of my regular maintenance routine. We grilled and chilled and enjoyed the weekend. Cruising around the lake at 4000rpms, 30mph, 7gph. Over 3mpg, pretty dang good for a 23 foot boat.
