  1. You always know he's gonna hook up the big one when you hear the narrator say, "Vlad makes his LAST cast of the day". When you've seen 1 big ugly fish, you've pretty much seen them all.
  2. Here's the truck: 2001 F-250 - 160,000 miles 5.4L V8 4.10 Rear End Automatic Transmission Round trip from North of Boston to Long Island, NY. Total miles Round trip using Odometer - 534 Total miles Round trip using Google maps - 532 Filled tank prior to leaving, refill in NY (17.2 gal.), and upon return at original gas station (15.4 gal.) Total miles (534)/Total gas used (32.6 gals.) = 16.38mpg. Now here's the wierd thing. On the way down I kept the speed at 70-75mph and burned 17.2 gals. for 15.5mpg. On the way back I was in a hurry and did 80+ most of the way and only burned 15.4 gals. for 17.3mpg. The faster I drive, the better MPG I get. What would my MPG be if I did 120? And more importantly, is saving the planet a valid defense for a Reckless Driving Arrest?
  3. Nobody can tell a story like Big Al
  4. If she's not a total mutt, why don't you bang her and then beat the snot out of him? Shut them both up.
  5. A 17' Corson w/ a Merc. I'm thinking 50/60 HP. What a POS that boat was. But it was mine and I loved it.
  6. If you want turkeys, go to Fairfield Univ. in Conn. The place is friggin swarming with them. They attack students, cars, and anything else that moves. My daughter says they roost up in the trees at night and look like vultures waiting to pounce.
  7. I started doing my own last Fall. The boat/motor are 2000's and I figure I can't do any worse than the mechanics. Spent the $$$ on the manual and a torque wrench. I'm sure it takes me longer than it should, but it's a TON cheaper and I know it's getting done, and done right. In the past, I've had my doubts.
  8. Just paid $17 to have a 20 gal. grill tank filled.
  9. http://www.shootapirate.com/ Have at it and post up your score. 200 on my first try.
  10. They're in!! Don't forget to pick up a season pass if you like to get on the water early in the AM. They don't start taking money at the gate until 7 or 8AM. On the weekends, you'll have a hard time finding a parking spot by then.
  11. It's going to cost him 7 million $$$ out of his $25 Million/year. Is that sick?? What does that work out to - $140,000 per game?
  12. On Mothers Day, in honor of the mother of the octuplets, Denny’s is offering a new breakfast meal: The Octo-Slam. You get fourteen eggs, no sausage, and the guy next to you has to pay the bill.
  13. Just yanking your sausage...."SPAM...MEAT...." Thought a Monty Python SPAM fest might ensue... Trust me, I coulda made it funny with the right props.
  14. There's never a "SPAM" emoticon around when you need one.
  15. Put a light carrier loaded with Predators armed with Hellfire missles off the coast and let our boys play video games. Let a few get back to their home port or mother ship, and as soon as they toss the dock line, light em up. How hard can it be to distinguish a legitimate fishing boat from one loaded with armed thugs?
  16. Didn't he do a routine where he played a bumbling magician named "Dominic the Great"? He's say "Save the applause for the end" throughout the routine. I guess it's finally time to applaud. Nice guy...Funny stuff.
  17. Just out of curiosity, what makes a Haddock a "Bull"?
  18. #2 by far. The first is way too busy. All of those fish are too distracting.
  19. The FRP does NOT involve causing any injury, it merely tests the survival skills of the feline in question after being released in a suitable location.
  20. Just unwrapped the boat to get it ready. Once again, I busted my ass in the Fall cleaning prior to shrink wrap so I wouldn't have to spend hours scrubbing in the Spring...and once again it's covered in muddy cat prints. The culprit lives next door. I spoke to the neighbors in the Fall in the hopes they would control or contain their pet, since this happened last year as well. I even mentioned it over the Winter, as I had seen the little ###### prowling around. Obviously they are unable or unwilling to do what it takes to respect my property. So the FRP (Feline Relocation Program) goes into effect this evening. Thanks for listening.
  21. It's been a hell of a start to the boating season. I count 10 dead just off of the top of my head. And I think they've all been in Florida. I realize you guys do a lot more boating down there than those of us in the North, but this is nuts.
  22. I guess I don't understand how you could hire someone to do major work for major money and not trust them to do the job right. To the point where you pay someone else to keep an eye on them? When do you hire someone to watch the guy you hired to watch the guy who's doing the actual work? Sound like a public works project. I've been using the same contractor (2 Guys) for about 10 years. 1 addition, 2 bathroom remodels, a few small "odd" jobs and now major repair due to ice storm damage from December. Probably $100K over the years. We've established a few rules and have never had ANY problems. Written and signed estimates and contracts. Any changes due to unforeseen issues that will add cost or change appearance are discussed. Communicate regularly. If they're not going to show up as planned, I get a call. Mostly common sense and courtesty, in both directions.
