  1. We put a lot of effort into this but people just did not seem to care about once everything was set up. Still have the website up with the letter to send but again after we got it done we could not get to people to join in. In North Carolina they do not have to label the pumps so you do not know what you are buying unless you have a test kit. That was one of the goals was to have labeling at the pumps required. The flag will take you to the site. Butch
  2. Thanks for all of the work, quite a few people here right now too. Butch
  3. Hopefully this all dies with the Discover card app. I just wonder how many other apps went out that may have gotten approved. Better check all three, experian and equifax too. I have a watch thing with Experian ( they track all three companys ) and they notify me about ANYTHING on my credit. I just ordered four of those auto vests on sale and I know I will get a e-mail on it from them. Sort of pia but another thing that you have to worry about these days. Butch
  4. Thanks, I have an older Kodak zx 750 and I can do videos with it but they are very short 3 min max, it has been pretty tough and has gone from the electronics box to the deck and into the splashwell a couple times and still works. I am at the point now where I need more video capability since I want to be able to have walk through videos for customers that are out of town to able view on the site through their owners access. The extra plus would be is that I could have it on the boat too. I will look at the Panansonics if they have them at office depot. Waterproof is a good option but I will have to see how long the record time is. Butch Ken2, I will get with you the end of this month, I want to get 3-blade ss for the boat, we have that 4-blade on it now.
  5. Hi All, I guess I can put this here since it will be used on the boat too. What I am wanting to get is a video camera? that would use a disc to record on. I do not have a clue about any of this as far these things go. I am a GC so it would be used in the field and it would be used on the boat, so it might get a little wet, not drenched and bounced around somewhat and to top it off I would like to keep it around 500.00 bucks. So it this doable or am I dreaming ? Thanks, Butch
  6. Cutting Edge, thats me , No you have not done anything. I am a GC and we had a slight break in the weather ( very slight) and I have been pushing to get one going. I even had the "shirt" on yesterday Butch
  7. Any of you Florida guy's out there please take a little time and send the letter to Senator Nelson. We need to push this. Thanks, Butch
  8. Hi All, Some of you might be aware that the closures of fishing are getting more freqent if we do not do anything it will get worse. In North Carolina waters now the only legal bottomfish to catch are seabass & grunts thats it until April. Below is a page that has letters to send to your Represenative, there is a Senator in Florida, Senator Nelson has not signed on to a bill to add flexabilty to the fisheries act. There is only ONE Senator so far with the senate version. We need to get together on this. The people who want the fishing closed are organized. We are NOT. Look below and please take a little time to send the letter. 9. Old Bay seasoning boil does it for me. Frogmore stew????? Please tell me it's not what I'm thinking!!! Can someone elaberate? I gots to know. I have a Golden Frog Retriever and a Chesapeake Bay Frog Retriever. BTW---Whitch are versital and very well trained. They can stalk and take lizzards by surprise as well. These boys are good. Maby it will supliment my food bill Many years ago I had a german shepard that loved catching groundhogs, more recently I had a great dane here and he caught foxes, wake up in the morning and he would lay them at the front door. Frogmore stew is a low-country boil. The SC guy's I have know call it that, sort of a mix of red potatoes, sausage sometimes, shrimp, fish and whatever else. I have eaten some and it good stuff but I don't know what to do to make it. Butch
  10. I'm still in for two xxl .................. just have to put off that stainless steel super duty 316 glow in the dark anchor for another year Butch
  11. I laughed until my eyes had tears ..... great one Butch
  12. Maybe something like, Northeast / Mid- Atlantic / South / Gulf / West / Great Lakes, might also be nice to have a pinned place up top for people to post bouy links for weather info and water temp. for each area. Butch
  13. Auguste, Even I the computer the computer challenged one here could do it . Thanks for taking the time to make this, it will go on my boat since it almost always is just my son (14) and I, the wife is starting to get interested, but he is way ahead of her as far as running the boat goes. Butch
  14. Any of you have any good boil / frogmore stew reciepes out there. Thanks, Butch
  15. Personally I like ReelBoating. Though I probably fit "Joe Boater" more. This place feels much more comfortable, not a lot BS , etc. I was at guy's house last week and we needed a pic of my boat and I took him over here on his laptop to show him one ( from you guy's helping me post it ) and he didn't know about this place. He has been a member elsewhere since 04 but does not get on a lot. My point being that he just did not know about this place and if there was a way to get the word out more ?? The Carolinas forum used to be quite active, I have been trying to think how to wake it up some. Wiley you had the thought of "where's Arby ( or whatever his name could be, maybe Reely ? ). That could be fun, impose a pic of him somewhere or make it a site event with our shirts and people can guess where he is. The prize could be something silly , a big that would go with your sig. or maybe some sponsers certificates. Anyway some of my thoughts, Butch
  16. Guy's we are still at 150 letters sent. That is not enough. Please take a couple minutes and send this letter. North Carolina does not require the pumps to be labled. We need to change that. Click on the flag. Thanks, Butch
  17. There are several devices used to defeat the IED's. The one you see is a box attached to a pole that is lowered and extending on the front of a vehicle. There is a sytem in the box that activates an IED before the vehicle runs over it. Kingair, Thanks, I had two kids that worked for me out of high school that went over one is back and the other went back maybe 5-6 months ago. he was in one the citys ( I do not remember which one ) and he told me that they would wait in buildings to set them off ? That video came from another guy I know. Prayers for Ryan. Thanks Again, Butch
  18. What guy's have told me was they are somewhere watching close by and when they drive by they blow it. Got lucky with this one, they hit it early and it looks like it was buried too deep. Butch
  19. So then that means we are looking at 5 to 6 years to get back to where we are now at least in those areas that are being hit hard. Bad news. Butch
  20. Capt. Rick, How old would a trout 10 lb. be ? Thanks, Butch
  21. Tim, Yes it's bad, 5.9 here at 4:30 this morning at least it will be a little warmer at the coast. I don't really know but I guess a 10 lb. speck would be 5 years old ? Heck even it is only 4 years that is a long time for things to recover. Hurts the guides too because their customers like it when they can put them on 8 lb. plus fish. They say it will start warming by Monday but a lot of damage has already been done. Butch
  22. Rusty, A chart plotter has a map and your gps gives lat & long. I say go for the plotter, I fish around OIB , Cape fear and coming in there if it nasty it nice to see where you are on the "map". A good radio is a must with a 8' antenna, that will give you a max range of maybe 12-13 miles. My boat is 19' w/ a 150 and 15 is my max . I want to be able to get back in if it gets nasty and make it to the ditch and you know those summertime thunderstorms. As said above carry "paper maps", I use the pro-finder charts and they are laminated, good for us in our small cc's, and they have compass points on them also Butch Forgot I would give Jim a shot at BOE Marine when you are ready to buy.
