  1. I had a 260 with twin f150's a few years ago. decent boat. Scout modified the hull (262) to fix a wetness issue with the 260. They also added forwrd seating. Like a lot of Scouts it is a bit light for offshore action but is very good for day/inshore use and venturing offshore on very calm days. Great fit and finish. Fast with good fuel economy. Depending on your intended use it can be a great choice.
  2. It shouldn't be too hard to coordinate with someone who is making the trip in a decent size boat. If the conditions aren't too bad you should be able to ride behind them, in their wake. I have ridden in the ocean many times and have always felt safe. The buddy boat can carry extra fuel and other supplies for you.
  3. Boats in this class are like min vans on the water, in my view. They serve a purpose and performance is not one of them. As long as they are safe and reliable, that is really all that I can ask for.
  4. yes but it is frustrating. salesman lie (alot) and you can't get a feel for a boat with one test drive. Also you can't go out in one day and do good comparative shopping like you can with cars. And, last but not least, after you buy it and go on some of these boards you find out you just bought a POS !!!!!!
  5. I have been looking at the Pursuit 335 OS and like that boat and Pursuit in general but it has some layout issues I am not sure of. Meanwhile the Whaler 305 has caught my eye. The boat comes standard with 250 Verados but can handle 300's. Any opionions on those power choices ? The Whaler 305 has been around for awhile (as has the Pursuit) and wondering about ride and other considerations from those who have owned or been on one. Thanks in advance !
  6. I am thinking about getting a cabin boat for overnite trips. There are some new '08 Pursuit 335 OS's around that can likely be bought cheap. I am looking for opinions on this boat equipped with twin Yami 350's. I don't think this hull was designed for those engines and was wondering if there are any weight issues i should know about. Also, how is the ride and performance, etc. I think this was a popular model but has been replaced by the 345 OS (which I also like !). Any feed back will be appreciated. __________________
