  4. wow hooo 220 on the first go around and 250 on the second
  5. Figured I should post this here too. I know some of you dont visit the dark side anymore. Better late than never.....(was waiting on some pics from another camera). The dates were May 6 - 10. Okay so we arrive at Morris Marina at 9:00 am on the 6th. Wind is kicking it out of the South and the guys had been running the small ferry due to lack of water in the sound. Well after waiting until 11:00 for a ferry ride, the guys at the marina decided that they had enough water to take the big ferry over to the island to drop us off:thumbsup:. RIDE OVER DEPARTURE FROM THE FERRY Alright so we get unloaded at the cabin and hit the beach around 4:00 that day. First fish caught that day was Thats right a blue.... All that day and into that night was nothing but these guys So we sleep in for a while and wake up and went scouting for our night trip ( 7th ). Well we found some good corn cob mullet at the far north end of the island. We then found us a spot to fish that night and decided to test it for a little while. Not a whole lot of luck. We caught some small blues and a shark.(sorry no pics of the fish). We decided to head back to the cabin and get a little nap in for our night adventure. We figured we would try the same spot at night to see if anything would change. Not much had changed...just some bigger blues.. So we call it a night around 3 ( Well I called it a night around 1 in the front seat of the truck  ). So the next day (8th) we try it again. Same as the day before.. More fresh bait and some more scouting. Found a good spot for our night fishing and had caught some more small blues but had one fish break us off, so we figured it would be a good spot for that night. So we headed back to the cabin to get some food and rest up a little. My brother had to prepare his paints for the night trip ( Duct tape works wonders ) So we headed out and got set up. My brother (Guerry)through his pole out, set it in the holder and headed to the truck. He set down his beer, walked to the other side of the truck and thats when it happened. His pole took the England Bow..... Fish ON!!!!!!!! The line was screaming off the reel while me and brothers BIL got the other lines out of the way. My brother took off down the beach trying to regain some line and I rest the other poles. My brothers BIL ( Jesse) went to help out. They finally stop about 150 yard down the beach to fight the fish. At one point I watched my brother take a wave to the chest but he never backed down. About 30 minutes or so later Jesse came running down the beach with the fish (Guerry was a little worn out ).But not to worn out to hold him up for a pic or 2. Total length was 45 1/2 inches with a 28 7/8 girth. It only took a minute or two in the water and a flash light beam to the eyes to get the fish going again to live another day:thumbsup:. High fives to me bro... Finished fishing that night with 0 yes 0 bites. So we headed in. The next day (9th)we did a little scouting again but decided to retry the hole from the night before. To much wind and current and couldnt even keep 12 oz of weight on the bottom, so we moved all the way to the far north end. We didnt get anymore drum/redfish but we did manage a few more blues. Dang that guy looks about tore up in that last pic:grin: Well thats was about it for our fishing. We headed in to get a little rest to only get up and pack to leave the next day. When we got up, wouldnt ya know it, the wind was coming out of the west (finally) but we had to leave:banghead::banghead:. Oh well cant change the weather. Well heres a few pics from the trip back. Guerry on the left, Jesse on the right Me on the left, Jesse on the right Ferry ride Back at the Hill Put a little air back in the tires, bought some t-shirts, hats, stickers, and coozies, then headed home........... It always sucks to leave that place. If you never been I suggest you visit one of the outer islands of North Carolina. You wont be sorry:thumbsup::thumbsup:
  6. I'm leaving the afternoon of the 5th and heading to Atlantic Beach. We're boarding the Ferry in the AM on the 6th. We'll be staying in one of the Octagon cabins. If anyone heading over there look us up.
  7. X2 I like both but, I think I like the 2nd one better because its smaller and gets the point across.
  8. where do you guys see a cover page Am I missing something?
  9. Me and my brother made the mistake of fighting in the car ONE time. My mom slammed on brakes and it threw both of us into the floor. While we were in the floor she took out her hair brush( you remember the big ones that you could turn the other way and use as a ping pong pattle) and when to town on us. It didnt matter to her which part of our bodys got in the way ( head, arms, fingers, ear, nose, back, legs ect) she just kept on wailing. She never had to worry about us fighting in the car ever again. Moral of the story is "Best lessons learned in life are usually the ones learned the hard way" I dont know if I would of left my children on the side of the road, but I bet she wont have to worry about them fighting in the car ever again.
  10. Great show, but the season was short. Maybe HBO was just testing it to see how well it would do with the public. Anyway great show. Hope they keep it going...
  11. Nothing works better than the real thing, but the Williamson is alright. It seems to swim a little better if you troll a little faster than you do using live bait. It also helps to dip it in Menhadian oil from time to time too;)
  12. Some people just cant take a Menzie can they....... Ops... I meant a joke....
