  1. I had them on my Shamrock.....The problem was I never knew how well they wouldve worked, because I never hit anything. Having said that I chose them over the spurs because they seemed to have been a better overall design that would be more aggressive at cutting a line that hung up on the shaft. The only that threw me about them was, at idle I could hear a slight clicking from them ..Took me forever to figure out thats what the clicking was from. Another thing to consider is a Drive Saver, which is almost as important as any line cutter
  2. I have a couple pair each of Costas and Mauis...........I love the Costas for the water , but the problem that I have had with lenses cracking and chipping has been unbelievable! I put my MJs through just as a rough a time, and they simply just hold up much better. I hate to junk any brand , but when it comes to quality the Mauis are much better, when it comes to better vision on the water (tracking lines) the Costas are much better But at the end of the , day its one of those individual chose things.........
  3. Running a 22 Shamrock out of Danvers. Man it is good to see Wiley back at it and seeing alot of old friends!! :1992_beer_cheer:
  4. My friends always say I like fat, ugly chicks.................Can we make one like that for guys like me??? :1143_neener_neener_neener: :1143_neener_neener_neener: I like em both, first one a little better though.........
  5. In my sign shop we do it daily, as much as I hate it!! The key to removing old vinyl lettering is to understand that you need to PEEL it off and NOT try to scrape it. Peeling goes alot slower but does virtually no damage. Scraping goes quicker in the sense of removing vinyl, but takes alot longer overall because you will end up spreading the adhesives around and putting fine scratches in the Gel . When you peel vinyl , you want to try to peel it as close to perpendicular to the hull/transom as possible, rather than pulling it away and towards you. Pulling it will just cause it to keep snapping. What others said about heating it up and keeping it warm and soft is true. We use little blue propane torches if power isnt available, they do a better job because its more focused heat. Obviuosly you have to be much more careful because it can burn the hull.............
  6. Gus- Yeah Im sure the hard core tire kickers are part of the problem.......Im probably a mild one in the sense that I am interested in a couple of different boats and I am not necessarily honing in on one specific boat. At the same time I am not being real aggressive about buying , if it happens it happens , if it doesnt it doesnt. All that said, I was referring to initial callbacks from brokers
  7. Funny thing is.............I have been thinking about going into a larger boat, and the biggest problem I have had is getting brokers to actually return calls!! I cant believe in this economy alot of them arent even trying to sell a boat!!! How hard is it to call a potential buyer back?!?!?! I dont get it :753_hammer_hitting_head:
  8. To catch less Garbage bags, seaweed, skates and dogfish!!
  9. Robalo made one solid boat back then....... I would try take a good long look at the condition of the wood in the floor and the stringers, but access will be tough. If the transom is bad, you can probably bet wont wont stop there. What others said about that foam is accurate as well. If I were gonna buy that as a project boat, I would want someone to use a moisture meter on it first to try to really identify what I was getting into...........
  10. Agreed...They have a good rep and a good product. I have had good dealings with them.
  11. I agree..........although I will miss having IB being a part of the process here, they are good at what they do!!! NOT!!!!! :1143_neener_neener_neener: :1143_neener_neener_neener:
  12. Wiley this is a LONG time coming!!!! I am PUMPED about this new startup!!!!
  13. AGREED!!! Finally we have an alternative!!! Thanks guys!!!
