  1. Garmin and a Icom radio with a BIG antennae! I know its to late now,,,,,but when you buy a new boat try to include your electronics in the rigging of the boat........
  2. I had to get away from the YaHoos in the Charleston area waters this past weekend, so the wife and I went to Atlanta to check out the Aquarium. Pretty cool,,,but they didnt have any Giant Red Drum, Trout or Flounder anywhere. I was disappointed!

  6. Ha-Ha-Ha,,,What kind of monitor do you have Nutz? The pick has lost a lot of its sharpness and chroma. (and its alos copyrighted)
  7. ,,,you said,,"considered adding artificial light to oppose the sunlight and eliminate shadows....thoughts?" Yes, With the camera you have I would just use reflectors and not worry about a high dollar flash unit for fill light. A couple of them will work just fine. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/3586...sc_Silver_.html Just get a buddy to help you,,,,keep looking through the view finder until you get the light like you want it. I did not use flash on any of my shots,,just one reflector. "ISO"?,,,,I always set mine at the lowest setting that the camera has. (100 ISO) If you know how to use PhotoShop,,use the "RAW" file setting on your camera if it has it. Its the best for editing! Also use your 70-300 telephoto lens for something like this, set around 100mm. As far as the polarizer,,just get what you can afford. You wont use it much,,,,,but when you need it, its awesome! Like I said,,,call me if you need to. Im off tomorrow PM. Hopefully Ill have some good pictures of a big Cobia. Im going offshore tomorrow AM
  8. Rich,,,,read this, It will help you with your photography and the lighting. http://www.geofflawrence.com/photography_t..._reflectors.htm Your problem is that you need a reflector, and some one to help you hold it. Also put your camera on a tri-pod and use a cable release or remote. If you can re-shoot it, do it early in the AM or just before the sun goes down in the PM. Do you have a polarizer for your lens? That will help with the harsh lighting also. Here is one where I used a polarizer. It gives it that soft look. If you need to give me a call. Rick
  9. I had a writer come down from South Carolina Sportsman magazine last week. Here is a little write up from the day. The full story will be out next May. http://www.southcarolinasportsman.com/details.php?id=904
  10. Zak,,,,you might want to read this post I made a while back. If you buy a MotorGuide,,you might need this There is no delay,,,,but........... http://www.scgofish.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=278
  11. Dawn dish washing liquid. Mix it with water and spray it in there a couple of times and let it set. You will need to tap on it to help get it down in there. The high pressure car wash will help too. The spring on the back side of the ball is full of salt. Oil will not help you as much as high pressure water and Dawn will. I had a chemist in the boat one day and he told me that Dawn is the best thing to use to eliminate salt.......................I use it after every charter on my boat, and reels.
  12. As you might know,,,It only takes one grain of sand or some type of grit to start the process. All of my parts are clean enough to eat off of before I start packing my bearings and injecting the grease in the hub. If the wind is blowing sand around in your work area,,,dont even think about it! Make sure you wipe off the grease gun and your fitting before you grease the unit too. Another thing you should think about is when you "Seat" the nut by tightening it down, spin the wheel and get the nut good and tight while it spins. (This also helps seat the races in the hub if you installed new ones). Then back it off "about" a 1/4-1/2 turn to allow for heat expansion. Its got to have some clearance in there. Knock on wood,,,,,I have never had a problem with a bearing going bad. (Thank God!)
  13. Thanks a lot all you guys. I went by the Verizon store and they fixed me up,,,good ta go!
  14. The hinge on my phone is broken, but it still works. For how long, I don't know. Some one gave me a phone that has the same provider as mine and I want to get it changed over to work with my number. How do I go about doing this? Do I call Verizon and let them help me? or is this something I can do my self? They wanted 200.00 dollars for a new phone. (I didn't get the insurance for my phone when I bought it)
  15. I need to talk to someone about Verizon cell phones. Can any body here help me out?
  16. Russell from "Lehi Baits" here in Charleston,SC asked me to shoot some of his new custom lures today. He made some for a couple of tournaments that are going on this weekend. Watcha think? Comments? Copyrighted
  17. Come on Red,,,they only cost about 3.00 per pack. You have to much time on your hands...............
  18. The giant red drum are just now starting to show up out at the jettys. Man, these guys are late this season. Over the weekend we boated four in the high 30" to low 40" range while using cut menhaden on the bottom on a carolina rig with 8oz of lead for the heavy current. (On a side note, a tarpon was jumped down in Hilton Head this past weekend also) Here are some pictures for you. All pictures are copyrighted.
