Is the drain on a ball valve or gate valve type set up ?? If so maybe slightly open it and put some screen, so shrimp do not get sucked down ?? Kinda balance it on drain vs fill

Buy a second drain pipe and cut down to size ... Or you could redneck it ... Cut existing one to proper height When you want deeper water in there put it back together with a furnco coupling.. Depending on your live well set up pictures help..
