  1. Watch the water and depth finder. If you get out of the channel, It can go from 15 feet to 1 foot pretty quick. Buoys are spread pretty far apart which makes it a little more difficult. If you have google earth, you can zoom in and it will give you a little better idea, but some of it may have changed . I imagine there will be alot of boat traffic, watch where they go or if they hang up........
  2. Contact ScarabChris. Here is link to his website that shows boats lit up: http://www.coastalnightlights.com/styles-UWlights.html The color really depends on what you are wanting to do. For fishing, Green would be best. Installing the Blue Transom lights is my Fall project. I will probably end up with lights that exit out of the top and run the wires up over the transom. I really do not want to drill a hole thru the transom.
  3. rich, not trying to hijack your thread. Dipstick, I will be docking sometime on Thursday. Not sure where they are putting me yet but they have me lined up to tie up somewhere. What boat ya gonna be on? I will be in the white Pioneer CC. Not sure if I will even untie on that Saturday and yea, Saturday evening, it will be crazy.......
  4. I thought something looked a little off. I should of known........... Put those bad boys on, head out beaufort inlet, straight to R8 Buoy, drop six lines in with live pogies on king rigs, and hold on.................
  5. Those things look sweet. Gonna check the website out........... Oh btw, date needs changed on ya camera.............
  6. And I will be down the road from Jason. Will be in Southport the 2nd thru the 5th. Hopefully one day running offshore, then fight the boat crowd on the 4th and finish up Saturday night, tied up at Southport Marina watching the fireworks.
  7. Yep, Cold Mountain, based on that movie, is where I lived, basically on the lower side of it. Sure was pretty up there, but would be snowing at the house, when it was raining 10 miles down on the main road. If you go down hwy 276 towards Brevard, there are numerous trails as well. Can take a right and head toward the fish hatchery. Thats a site to see in itself, park and take off. Plenty of small campsites off the beaten trail. Dont forget to go down sliding rock a time or two.
  8. Here ya go. Raritan Wreck - 33.32.503/77.56.897 Horseshoe 2 - 33.31.930/77.55.180 Lighthouse Rocks - 33.47.181/78.07.082 15 mile area - 33.38.785/78.10.210 18 Mile area - 33.37.396/78.11.611 Shark Hole - 33.37.445/78.12.986 Angel Rock - 33.35.590/78.14.997 Be Safe and Catch'em up and post a report with pics............
  9. Now thats a great report. Somebody is gonna get a heck of a great boat..............
  10. Here is my thoughts, Make the run up to Southport and go out Cape Fear for phins and head straight to the Raritan or Horseshoe, about a 21 - 23 mile run once you clear the inlet. Great reports coming from these two areas. However, if you leave from Cape Fear and do not want to make that run, head straight to Lighthouse Rocks, then move to 15 mile area, then 18 mile area, and then you can work your way back in toward Lockwood Folly. You can also leave Lockwood and head to these areas as well. Making the run up the waterway from Holden is only about a 20 minute run. Do not take this wrong way, but since your boat only been out once this year, the run up the waterway might be good to make sure all is good. These are areas I hope to be at on Friday If you want exact numbers, post up and I can send you some.
  11. Yep and I was just adding, by showing proof that UPS never picked up the package, the supplier would in turn, actually make the shipment was sent out. This statement has nothing do with the subject. To stay in tune with the subject, Has this been resolved, did ya get your line, did they make good on it, did ya go to another vendor???????
  12. That happy smile say it was the right cove. Good job. Bet he is still talking about that fish..............
  13. Yes, a company can print their own UPS shipping labels, directly off of UPS.com. They have to be registered and an account set up with UPS. I print my own labels off and can schedule a pick up when the shipping info is submitted to UPS. If the shipment submitted and tracking number is given, then the tracking sequence can begin and you can get detailed shipping information, by tracking the UPS number. Assuming you tried tracking the shipment on UPS website and it showed never being picked up (when UPS driver picks up, they scan the package and it shows pick up date/time on their website), then you can take the detailed shipping info (saying shipment was not scanned) from the website, back to the vendor and they should reship.
  14. Gotta throw my Pioneer in the mix but best one in sig at bottom.........
  15. Good to see some familiar names. Since I have the 4th reply on here, does that mean I get a free trip to Abacos and a new Garmin from BOE.
  16. Welcome aboard. I remember seeing the old posts when you first got that sweet looking ECU boat.
  17. If ya want to set up in a primitive little campground, that is just off the main road (that you can take up to the Parkway, by lots of waterfalls), look at area called Sunburst (about 5 -10 minutes from Lake Logan/Bethel area). Sits about 50 yards or so from the river but there is a very deep hole by the bridge. Lot of trout in it and a great place to freeze ya toes off while still being middle of summer. Trails galore all around this area. I used to live about 5 miles from this place.........
  18. I used to live up on the other side of Asheville. One of the best places to start out, would be a place called GraveYard Fields. Good parking area and plenty of trails to start out on. People do camp around the water there, but plenty of spots off the trails. Coming in on the parkway, you go past The Pisgah Inn, cross over Hwy 276, go past Devils Courthouse and its on the right side. Cant miss it. Need any other info, just shout.
  19. Freemans sells some live bait, shirimp and minnows but no pogies. The guy that sells bait on the water is ......... Bait Boat. Cant think of the first name. He is usually floating around in the turning basin in a Carolina Skiff with some big tanks in the boat. Cant miss him.......
  20. Gotta agree with Rich. I use Anchorage every time I am down. Less headaches, fuel prices are the best/no ethynol and the channel is very well marked to the waterway. For Bait and Tackle, I use Freemans. They are across the bridge towards Atlantic Beach. They are on the left before the light @ Fort Macon Rd. They should have anything you need. If the owner is there, tell him Jim from the wire/cable company called CCI sent ya. Good people in there........
  21. Personally I do not see anything wrong with it........ The UNC logo just gives it some more flair. Wow, I must be looking too close......
  22. Was going to make a post and ask pretty much ask the same thing. I do not have XM Weather but flipping thru the Cabelas catalog, I was looking at the new Hummingbird Side Imaging units. One of the models says it can be used with the XM Weather (satellite) but cannot be used in in Saltwater. That thru me for a loop. Can somebody explain that or maybe it was typed up wrong???? I was thinking of upgrading later this year.
  23. Chris sales them in 12" lengths and I did four strips - 48" total under each gunnel. Double Blue transom lights will be my winter project.........
