  1. Triple 300 Verado/hard top/open array radar/full Stratoglass enclosure, stock props....74 MPH.....I'm underpowered, I know. The only boat to pass me was a 36 Invincible with triple 350 Verado...
  2. 36 Invincible - triple 350 Verado - 220 gallons of fuel - 78F - saltwater - 6400 RPM -81 MPH http://www.mercurymarine.com/look_deeper/boat_house_bulletin.php?ID=432&SortBy=Title&Section=outboardChecks&sixCyl350=36 Competition: 38 Fountain - triple 350 Verado - 110 gallons of fuel - 55F - freshwater - 6800 RPM - 80.0 MPH http://www.mercurymarine.com/look_deeper/boat_house_bulletin.php?ID=420&SortBy=Title&Section=outboardChecks&sixCyl350=36 The Fountain had temperature, freshwater (faster), 400 more RPM (better propping), and less fuel working for it and still fell short of the Invincible's performance numbers. Just observations based on factual data.
  3. yeah, one of my good customers just moved in to the big new blue house down the street, neighbors are a bit uptight I love that house! Cept no lift for the Bayou...
  4. I've done that a few times to the point it takes two people to put a 12' net in the boat. What sucks is there is so much bait that most of it dies before it hits the well. Nice throw!
  5. They had a plate through bolted to the transom to get the motor higher and the motor was attached via studs into that plate. All the studs sheared off except for one. That plus the tie bar held the motor on.
  6. Let us know what you think about the SH seatrial. Beweare of 275 Verados from that year.
  7. Wow....... Idiots. Typical LHP crap...everyone there thinks their own shi-t don't stink. Idiots.
  8. I valeted my M5 at Morton's in Fort Lauderdale, went to the restaurant door and heard the howl of a very familiar V10 as the tires broke loose from 1st to second gear. I was sick to my stomach the entire dinner and did not enjoy it whatsoever. Never again.
  9. Took the boat out today, topped out at 41.3 mph. Running great!
  10. Hope everything with his health works out. FSU's time to shine.
  11. Butch, other pictures clearly display an SOS sign in the sand. It was definitely written but it all makes no sense. Things aren't adding up.
  12. Better to have more money than balls than more balls than money! He could honestly kill himself in a boat like that, and so could I!
  13. Good suggestion, not a boat you see very often here, but definitely worth a look.
  14. I wouldn't pay more than 80K for that boat with no options, electronics, etc. By the time you add what you want, like I said, it is AT LEAST 40K if you want to do it right. If you want to do it very right and not chince (like nobody should on a boat this caliber), you're probably looking closer to 60-70K to get it ready, or about 140K out the door for a fully loaded 29 with less power than desired.
  15. Nice look'n boat....question: how does a trip 250 XS boat go 8.5 mph faster than a trip 225 Opti boat? I used to work at the biggest Fountain fishboat dealer in the nation (at the time) and the fastest we ever saw out of a trip 225 Opti boat was 64, propped correctly, and ultra light. Is there that big of a difference between freshwater and saltwater? Good luck on the sale if you haven't sold her yet.
  16. Hey Mike, Looks like a white Christmas for you. Hope all is well. I have looked through some of the information you sent me and have a few questions. I will draft an email to you in a few days. Thanks!
  17. No speak-que Englich. Casa-Site tiene un bote muy rapido con mucho HP!
  18. 31 Contender is a great riding boat but you better get your snorkel, mask, and wet suit. For the money, Contenders don't impress me whatsoever. You actually couldn't pay me to own one, I really feel like they are the most overrated boats on the market. A buddy of mine who tournamet fishes a lot told me to look into a 33T with trips before I got the Invincible. I could have saved a hundred grand, but I opted to go with what I think is a boat that is in a whole different class. Have you looked for any used 33 Invincibles? I doubt there are many, if any at all, but that is another option. The layout is almost exactly the same as Sea Vee. I like Sea Hunter, but the 35 just feels too skinny and small for a 35, but if you can get a great deal with remaining warranties that you are comfortable with, then sea trial and see how you like it. In the low 30's size range I would recommend Invincible, Yellowfin, Sea Hunter, Sea Vee, Intrepid, and even Competition. Competition is a great value. If Sea Vee is going to be like that and not work with you on price, they can go screw themselves. The only reason why I have my boat now is because Invincible was willing to work with me. Selling a boat right now isn't an easy thing so tell Sea Vee they can pound sand if they are going to be like that. There are other good boat companies willing to earn your money. The way I see it is that whichever boat you buy will be earning your hard-earned money. 225 Optis on the new 29 Sea Vee may be a bit underpowered, I agree. Personally I would have a pair of 300's on it, I am a big fan of having more power than you need (as you can tell). My boat runs upper 50's easily on two motors. If I were in your shoes, I would tell Sea Vee you are going to Invincible and Sea Hunter (direct competition) to go negotiate. I guarantee you they will be calling and if they don't they are idiots. The ball is in your court and this is a big decision so take your time and find what is right. If you want four strokes, there are plenty of boats on the market with four strokes and I guarantee you each manufacturer has a demo boat or a leftover with four strokes that haven't even been registered to an owner yet (warranty begins when you buy them). Times are hard for everyone so these guys should be more than willing to move inventory. Don't let a demo boat scare you off...I have hull #2 (Invincible's owner's personal boat) and I know it has been put through hell and it looks new and runs like a beast. Keep us informed on what you are looking at and what your intentions are, any deals on the table, etc. so we can better help you make the best decision. If you have any questions about Invincible, please feel free to message me here. I am not trying to push the brand on you because of bias, but if there are any used 33's on the market, it should be another consideration. Walk from the Sea Vee deal and open the options book back up. There are many quality manufacturers so find what YOU like. Good luck and keep us updated!
