  1. Here is the challenge, who can post the biggist fish story that they can back up with pictures for all here to see and judge. Me? I need some time to figure out which picture tells the best story. Who's going to be first?
  2. Ditto! Excellent ! This place just keeps getting better every day !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. HoooooRaayyyyy !!!!!!!!!!! This should be a really good move Wiley! Muchas Grassyahhhs !!
  4. Even when this place is loaded up with viewers it's still SMOKIN' !!!!! Thanks Wiley! .
  5. Tommy904 has the right idea. Some of us around here will make his life miserabe if he don't let up. Or maybe, just tell him to expect some visitors from Brooklyn New York that will give him a ride in a nice car and then take him fishing on a really nice boat. By the end of the day he will be wearing a pair of new shoes as well, you know the kind that don't float. .
  6. Hey Menzies, Man is you ugggggllllllllie !!!!!!!!! Welcome newbie! .
  7. I just can't kill my Shimano 6500 ! It has gone ZZZZzzzzzzzz a thousand times and it just keeps on singing that song. Get one and go have some fun with it.
  8. Welcome all visitors! You have been here before and see that this is a real friendly place to hang out and share your boating and fishing thoughts. Why don't you take a minute and register and become an active part of our community??? Just do it, you won't regret it! .
  9. You really need to see the fantastic Aquarium! There are lots of little New England shops for the Mrs. to spend money in and some good Resturants and Pubs down town. Lots of boats to look at in the harbor. Get far away from I-95 over the little bridge and into the village before you stop. Very Tourist friendly BrokenWrench .
  10. Ok ,Now that you moved us over here just what do you plan on doing with us, ummmm? Oh yea just so that you guys up north of here have a better understanding of what goes on south of Long Island, most of us do our fishing and boating in the New York Bight. It is a shared waterway of both New York and New Jersey, just as the Long Island Sound is common between NY, Conn, and Rhode Is. Even though we all share common waters, each state has very different Fishing Regs. It baffles me as to how this is possible since the fish don't have any idea what State they are swimming in, nor do most common boaters. All we can hope for is that one day somebody will figure out that most of the waterways up here are common ground used by many and should have common laws and regulations just as navigation does. It sure would make things a little less confusing. BrokenWrench .
  11. Here's a nice shot of my buddy Pete's 38 Henriques, one of the nicest boats I ever fished on.
  12. Yep, me too! Just something about a good cup of coffee. On the rare occation, the addition of some Brandy is a welcome evening treat. BrokenWrench .
  13. Maybe the question should be "Does she go both ways?" vs.vs.vs, etc. To all of you ex-menbers of THaT other toxic waste site: Please be aware it was created with the very best intentions as this and many other sites are . I came over from a site up here in the NE (hint-hint) that also was created way back when with all the best intentions, mainly to share good local fishing info as well as rod and reel Q&A. It was allowed to deterorate just so that it could get the "Hits" needed to justify the advertising rates. As time went on the discussion board getting the most hits was a board we will call the "Lounge". It's a place for the vs. v. vs v. vs, as well as some very intense politcal discussions. At one time there was some real high quality moderators who really cared and tried to keep the agruements to a minimum. What you will find there now are moderators who are either full of themselves or like to fuss and argue just as their immature membership base does. Over the last few years I "Lurked" over at THaT other site when I needed specific info on a peticular boat or motor. It become pulluted by the "mine is better than yours" crowd who offer no real information other than that's what they own. My point is this, it is up to all of us, not just Wiley and the Mods. to keep this place civil and run any riff raff out of here just as soon as it it starts to get ugly. Every discussion that I have read here has been informative and well spoken. From what I can see this is a great group of people dedicated to Boating and Fishing, and I am proud to be a part of it. My only suggestion is that we all stop "bashing" THaT and other sites and move ahead making this the best place to come for all types of Boating and Fishing information. As Welder said "Good to see so many people with level heads that can think logically" {Ditto} Many thanks to Wiley for getting this place going and allowing me to be a part of this fine and intellegent group! Broken Wrench .
  14. This is how good law abiding men go bad, just like the "Boston Tea Party" Do I hear {{{{{ filet and release }}}}} ??????
  15. Hey R.I.B. Take a look at the batteries over at West Marine. Read some of the reviews on their site under: "SeaVoltĀ® Dual-Purpose Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries" Go with 2 Group 27's for those Small Block Chevys, You will touch the key and start 'em up! I run my electrontics and radio all day and they never go below 11.5V. They start my Chev HO 350 with just a tap of the key and VRoooommm, even on the coldest morning in December here in the NE......... Good price and West takes everthing back regardless of why! BrokenWrench .
  16. Does anybody own one or have any personal knowlege of the SPOT Satellite Personal Tracker and Messenger ???? It looks like one of them things we all should have? (I tried to insert a picture of one, but I guess I just ain't that bright!) Broken Wrench .
  17. Ummmmm, sounds like a fuel leak somewhere ? Most of the "Wake Jumpers" just park 'em in the fall and then jump on them & start 'em in the spring. NO Maintenance, no safety checks, no nothin', just go..... The only time they bring 'em in to the shop is if they don't start. Haven't you noticed that most boating and safety rules don't apply to them? .
  18. Not to worry R.I.B...... When we come over to the NE Forum it will be as they say, "In Force!" We will bring the liquid refreshments too...... BrokenWrench
  19. Hey Miller Time! My "new" boat is going to be up the Cheesequake Creek at Morgan's. Just don't tell anybody that I live over on the "Utter-side" of the bridge in NY. Love to Bass fish the Raritan and Tog fish around Shrewsbury Rocks and the Reefs. Maybe we should start planning a mid summer "ReelBoating.com" NJ Fishing Tournament and a food fest afterwards? No need for prizes,, braggin' rights will do! BrokenWrench
  20. What a great discussion, if this is the kind of high quality topics that will be discussed on REELBOATING.com, all I can say is BRAVO! This place has already proven that it's members are mature, intelligent people who take boating and fishing very seriously. We are all "Stewards of the Sea" and it is important that we all respond to any emergency on the water. Regardless of our training simply calling for help and getting people out of the water and out of harms way is a good start. In every emergency that I have responded to out there, there is always somebody around who has the training to take charge (Doctor, EMT, Fireman, etc) and direct others. If not the 911 operator or the Coast Gaurd radio operator will give you all the direction you need if you stay calm and give them good site intel. So the answer to the question is : CALL FOR HELP and follow instructions of the 911 operator or USCG. Let's all be safe out there and avoid accidents when possible! BrokenWrench .
  21. I rec'd a similar notice of winnings from a Mrs Dottie Eubanks that was in a funny sort a english, It said: "Just send me all of yor personal info and $500 to the mail forwading company listed below for proccessing and they will send a special courier with a bank check for $526,211 (US) to yor howze immeadiatly apon reciept" I mailed them a check yesterday, when I see my 500k a round of beers is on me ! .
  22. Well I guess that makes "Tree" (3) of us Lawg Islanders. Me? I am a little MORE west of you guys, Like around the Point Lookout area. Gotta say it's a GR8 site, Hope we can find a few more members from down this way, eh? Just call me (Capt.) BrokenWrench!, I don't want them stalkers from that other NE site to find me here, I like this site much better!!!! .
  23. Good Luck to you from your brothers and sisters down here in the "South" Northeast!!!! You know us wise guys that do our boating and fishing from the South Shore of Long Island and New Jersey and out to the Canyons south and east of here! I am sure us "southerners" will do our best to let you know what goes on in these warmer waters!!!! Best Wishes and Lots of Fishes to ya!!! .
