  1. 4wheeler, I had the same problem on a previous boat. My batteries load tested good, so what I did, was to put the battery switches to "BOTH", and leave them there. I could then start the engines, and the electronics didn't re-boot due to the voltage being pulled down too far. You can try it, and you may find that your FF will stay up and running, and in the "both" position, your engine will be charging both batteries. It maybe charging both of the anyways, as often there is an isolating doide that will allow that, so you would have to check that. The downside to this is that IF you go out drift fishing, engine off, all electronics running all day, stereo blasting, etc, you may run both batteries down and not be able to start the engine. Make sure your battery capacity is up (load test the batt), and all connections clean and tight... battery connex, and all wiring to FF, including fuses in the line to the electronics, and the ground wires. If all that is ok, try running the switch in "Both" and see what happens. If it works, either continue to do that, knowing the risk of draining both of them, or add another battery in parallel with #1, do effectively double the capacity.
  2. With Verizon FOIS, I am paying 172/mo for something like 400 channels, (which most of the time, only about 3 are worth watching); HD tier, which includes the premium subscription channels (HBO/CM etc in HD); HD-DVD recorder and 2 other STB, FIOS H/S internet w/wireless router, and a fiber-op landline w/50 state free L.D. calling plan. I think it's too much money, and have looked around. Mediacom can provide the same thing, (they say), but of course it is not fiber-op, and the phone line is IP based; same HD tier and HD-DVD recorder, etc. Their offer is $74.95/mo for the 1st 12 months, then $99/mo for the 2nd 12 mo. This is for all three services. I'm really thinking of going for it. In fact, I had them scheduled to do the install two dif dates, but called to re-sched again, since I hate to screw with something when it works. I'd really like to cut my bill in half though.
  3. Sounds like a nice setup, and something I am considering. I tried both you links, but they go to a 'page not found' error. Maybe you could check on that.
  4. OK, I concede; I couldn't have been more wrong. It was actually embarassing for the Colts to lose like that. So it was a pretty big upset. Saint's rocked!
  5. Sure, I'm in. It will be close: Colts 21 - Saints 18
  6. I installed a Dell (DLP I think is the type), about 5 years ago, in a media room I built over the garage. I bought an 101" electriclly remote controlled screen from Tiger Direct, and built a valance to hide it when it is retracted. The screen was about $200 and the projector about $850. I has worked perfectly, both from a high-def video player, remote TV tuner, and also slideshows that I have shown from my laptop.
  7. Here's a very small, self-contained camera/recorder with pretty high-res, and audio: http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/small-color-mini-camera.html There are also others on this website, which I found using google. http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/cctv-security-cameras.html
  8. Dedicated forums make more sense to me. If I have a question about my engine, or about a sonar, I think it would get more reads and responses if it were placed in an apropriate forum, than being lost in the shuffle of an all-in-one. What would a newspaper be like if all the articles were randomly scattered throughout? You want to catch up on sports? Good luck. Looking for a truck? Where are the classifieds? Same thing with a supermarket. People want to be able to find something without a lot of searching. Leaves more time to spend when you find it.
  9. I'll be there, and I'll be happy to be your big brother
  10. Wow. That's a rough time, WIley. Very sorry for your loss. It's gonna take a while. I know.
  11. Thanks for the reply, and I hope my post was not taken as a thread hijack. I mentioned those cameras as a potential purchase for Chris, although I did also buy them both. Gave the non waterproof one to the Admiral, who had been talking about getting something for g-kids stuff. Might keep the other one just to leave on the boat. Might make for some fun videos sometime, andit is supposedly waterproof to depth of 10', so I can think of some uses for that too. Thanks again.
  12. How would you rate these two cameras? I bought one in the 1st link for the Admiral, mostly to video the grandkids. Bought the second one for the boat. UPS just dropped them off yesterday. I haven't even opened the carton yet, but will in the next few days. Are these decent, or should I return them for something better? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/6006...#specifications http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/6006...p.html#features
  13. And to add to the list, actor Karl Malden died yesterday, but lived to the ripe old age of 97.
  14. I bought a Humminbird Piranha Max at least 5 or 6 years ago, to use on a 12' porta-boat that I take with me on the RV. Battery powered, it's quick and easy to set up; the FF and suction-mount ducer & cable all store in it's own little case. It has always worked very well, even in salt water in the keys, but I don't know if they even make them anymore.
