  1. If you get the Etec you'll need a 21 so it won't matter
  2. I think thats right where is supposed to be - it goes down after the popit valve opens at about 2500 RPM
  3. Most readers weren't even reading your thread and must have Rebuild Carbs on copy and paste - your correct if it ain't broke don't fix it. I would have though it would take more than 1/16th though
  4. The stats are certainly the easiest to check, does sound kinda goofy, may be just let it run some. Sounds like something is closing and opening which is what the stats do.
  5. Did you fill the filter first? How could water get in it - its a new install ??
  6. No need to any of that stuff - its lean at idle - look at the front of the carb up top front, there will a screw there - turn that out while its running. You'll hear the difference in the motor 1/2 turn should do it. Its an air jet not a fuel jet, if need be turn it all the way in, counting the revelutions - then take it out but that will tell you where it was - run some soft copper wire or mono in if it needs but should only need richening a bit. Stop in at a dealer or call and ask where it is on that motor but it shouldn't be hard to find just looking.
  7. No, that needs to stay under 5500 the 4 strokes go to 6 - you need drop 2" of pitch and that will put up 400RPM. Also check the engine height - Cav Plate should be 1 to 1 1/2" ABOVE the hull bottom, otherwise your dragging to much stuff in the water.
  8. On that boat the Etec 115 HO version, more HP - sleek Lighning gear case and the ability to run 100/1 oil ratio should be a no brainer. As far as motors I don't think you'll find a left over as that model is new - you can call my buddies in Tarpon Springs 727 938 9796 they'll work as slim as possible since your sort of a gravy deal they normally wouldn't get. Tell'em I said to sharpen the pencil - some new rebates out too, rigging one and something else.
  9. I was going to suggest the new Etec 130 also but just for weight and quiet - the 150 would be fine too and bet it would get better fuel numbers than running that little 115 at 5K all the time - a bunch better. Any 150 would work, should be plenty on the used market if you don't want to new, but max HP is best.
  10. not enough voltage, your car will do it too if the alternator craps out
  11. Just an FYI on the injectors, the "Evinrude Fuel System Cleaner" they have a conditioner but not the same. This stuff is the chit for cleaning the injectors, my boat had been sitting when I bought it and needed 2 shots, started getting ragged a year later at 1200 - 2000 - another shot and within 30 minutes smooth again. With your winter period I would maybe do it 1st time each season on deposit ratio, they give a maintaince ratio as well but I don't use it that much, little pricey but great stuff.
