  1. Maybe there is a coup of the its royal hugeness the Admiral club.
  2. Well, i have been racing all my youth international sailing dinghies regattas, and for sure we were all waxing as often as we could to keep it smooth and fast. We may have all been wrong
  3. Hello from a split a-hole (still half on THT )
  4. Dear Sheila, I am sorry that your husband turns 50. HAPPY Birthday Rich
  5. Even their tender/launch or maybe life rafts are better than my boat
  6. I have done the same, and feel pretty ashamed of some of my comments, but that is life. We all have been young.... Also funny to see how different my attitude from one forum/topic to another I can be. For boating, biking, fishing, Ham radio, I am at a pretty low level so I keep quite a low profile. On the other hand, about fish breeding I know quite much more and enjoy sometimes to kick budds.
  7. Black tape on the rail (not lovely looking though), and the spot is rather at the back of the cabin so that the roof acts for the rays not to reach the deck. Rather OK.
  8. Thanks OK noted for the rain. I will see to make it a little canevas.
  9. Thanks Hulihan, however they are both 8 amps DC rated, and It will I think fully fit the bill. I am very ###### on weight excess (except for my fat butt )
  10. This is the crap I bought $4,000: Nissan 23' from the 80's. Dead transom, broken keel, full load of digested food. This is part of the job done: 100 meters of fiber glass, some Kgs of teak lamination, some Kgs of epoxy (total 900 US), here it was before launching: and now fully equipped, added folding radar pole, alu roof extension with crocket launchers, solar panel, and many more: Pilot cabin is a bit low, engine is single yam 115 carb, but runs at nearly 30 kts. Has a 20 gallons live well. I love my boat like an ugly wife. Just don't know why.
  11. Bly, do you mean you leave it running in the rain? It seems there is no rain protection for it. Even the sockets are flush mounted without cover. Thanks both for the comments. I do not plan to have it full time onboard. I plan to have it when staying full day at sea or night fishing with some projectors to ensure none tries to board me and grab my belongings. I do not have a charger. I have never needed it as I have a solar panel to keep my batteries charged.
  12. Hi All, Lurking at the generator Honda EU1000i. I saw pictures of pilot houses keeping it on the bow, others at the stern, or even on the roof. My stresses are: - CO fumes to the cabin; - Protection from sea water sprays/rain. I am thinking to mount it above the outboard on a specific rack (where I currently have the raft) or even making a pedestal on the OB cowling. I can ensure the strength. Best would be at the stern, but it often happens that winds blows from stern to cabin. What are your thoughts on the location? Anybody ever made an exhaust extension? About sea spray (and rain), how would you protect it without getting electric shock, blocking the cooling or choking it with its own fumes? Optional question: It delivers 8 amps at 12V. Can I connect directly to my batteries or do I need a regulator just as for solar panel? I would actually only need it for the 12V DC. Thanks for your help Pierre
