Armstrong Ladder Fix For The Cheap Plastic Safety Clip

Recommended Posts

The black plastic ring clip that locks my Armstrong ladder in place often turns and my ladder floats away. I called Armstrong to see if they had an updated part with no luck. I was going to install a pin or bungee when I had the idea to replace the plastic clip with a stainless steel hose clamp. Works perfect and you can snug it up enough that it will stay in place yet still turn to release with some force. Just turn the clamp until the worm gear is under the bracket. I went ahead and cut off the excess hose clamp and smoothed all the edges
