I have enjoyed jigging as something different to try. We catch some good fish on them but they don't beat dead bait for me......the best part is how they hit a jig....see the rod bend in the photos. They just slam a jig when it gets hit!

I've found jigs typically outfish bait, especially if you have a few folks fishing bait to lay down a scent field, and then your jig has the action and get the fish. I also often put a chunk of bait on my jig, or at least smear it with some herring oil or gel.

Agreed! Jigs usually outperform bait in this neck of the woods.

A 12-16oz lead head with an 8" Power Grub is top producer, tipped with a fresh piece of salmon belly or a chunk of Herring.........

Seven-ounce Crocodile spoons and 10-16oz Butterfly jigs are tough to beat as well. A little "Lunker Lotion" smeared on the metal jigs seems to increase their effectiveness, as well.
