Where can I get a free online credit score and report?

I would like a free credit report and score, but I don't like signing up for a "service" that I have to cancel later. Is it possible to do this on-line?

Yes, but whatever you do, do NOT fall for those stupid commercials for "Free Credit Report Dot Com" ! They're a rip-off. The government is even airing public service announcements that make fun of those commercials, and steering people to the true site for free reports - see below.

You can get a totally free credit report from a site sponsored by all three of the major credit reporting companies (Experian, TransUnion and Equifax) at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

I've used this service in the past; there are no gimmicks.

I don't think they provide your credit score, however; I'm pretty sure you have to pay for that info.

I used freecreditreport.com to get one of my scores......I delisted the next day and I wasn't charged anything for the score....as already stated, you can your credit reports for free.
