New Look Coming For ReelBoating!

New look coming for ReelBoating in 2011.

Over the next few weeks ReelBoating.com will expand from our current "forum only" format to a fully fledged online boating & fishing magazine. The new magazine format will be easy to view and navigate, and will feature articles, photos, videos and even live events exclusively from ReelBoating.com

The boating forums will still remain an integral part of ReelBoating.com and will be used to enhance the magazine by allowing discussions regarding the contents.

The quickest and easiest method for me to roll out the new look is to do so live, and then tweak the layout and settings. Therefore, there is a good chance you may run into errors over the next few weeks while visiting ReelBoating.com. Please note these errors, or design glitches, are only temporary and there is no need to alert me of them.

I am excited about the new format even with the amount of work that is involved in the setup (especially around the Holidays).

I think you are onto something, some of the magazines have a forum but it never seemed like it worked. People go there for the articles, not a forum. You are doing it in reverse which might actually be better because forum regulars often are looking for something to do after reading all of the new postings. I think boating forum junkies are true boating junkies as well.

Anyway, it is looking good so far, keep it up.

That is the spirit, fireboat.

Boat discussion in general is way down.

Even on the popular forums it seems the off-topic posts outweigh any true boating discussion about 5-to-1.

Viewers do however still want to read about the "latest and greatest" in the marine industry and become informed.

My main objective with ReelBoating was to be an online magazine. It's just made more sense to "open" as a Forum.
