I had a question regarding Lat/Long on some of the older grease charts that I have. The numbers did not look right on some of the listed waypoints. I thought that it was sloppy research on the part of the chart people but wanted an educated opinion. After quite a bit of looking I went to the NOAA site and found a "ask a question" link on the NOAA charting website. I got an answer in a few hours from Nick. Prompt, accurate, and helpful. The problem was me and the assumption that the numbers were listed as degrees, minutes, seconds. The chart was using decimal minutes but only taking it to two digits instead of the three digits we are all used to these days. I just didn't look close enough. Good old Nick figured it out just from the numbers format.
