While doing some research on the web this morning, I ran across this website, http://www.clicktoboat.com/index.asp. I haven't had time to look at it yet and was curious if anyone else had.

It appears to be something like Mapquest. Can you really use it for anything or is it just a gimmick? Does it have any value?

It has this in the disclaimer:

... OPERATORS ... MUST NEVER RELY UPON NAV-QUEST MARINE ROUTE MAPPING CHARTS AND DIRECTIONS TO MAKE THEIR MARINE NAVIGATIONAL DECISIONS. ...

So you still need paper NOAA type maps to be 'legal' but that's typical with the other on-line chart sites I've seen.

The on-screen map display is easy to get around. Point, click, scroll, drag. Good for planning or desk-tripping.

I dunno, maybe i messed up. I put in my info(close guess on fuel burn)and it told me I could get from Sea Isle City, NJ in 2.5 hours and would burn over 500 gallons of fuel. One No way 2.5 hours, two its a 25 foot boat, not a 200 foot yacht, even at WOT 200 gph is just a tad off.

You can always view charts here, too.....the basic charts are not terribly interactive, but they are "real" charts....there are also "print on demand" charts, and ENC's (electronic navigation charts) here:
