In Greece working

Recommended Posts

I'm in Greece now for a little while doing some work. Stayed in Athens at the Hilton for a couple days. checked out some local areas. Not too bad! I just got to Patra which is on the west coast of Greece. Figured I'd post a few pictures. I'll get more after a couple days. Very nice over here, hotel's on the water. :1992_beer_cheer: They have a couple little boats so I'm gonna check and see if they go fishing or do some diving maybe. Maybe I can get some fishing in :239_fishing: Not sure what kind of fish they catch in this area but I'll try to get a couple if I get the chance. I gotta fit work in also!! :1898_: They are Blackberry pics so not the best.

Good pics, thanks. Ya gotta love that delivery car, van, whatever is under all that junk!!

I pulled up alongside the ballon car at a light and I had to bust out laughing. He had the entire car stuffed with them too :504_shrugging: They were everywhere including in the front seat all around his head and crammed against the windshield. I'm suprised he hadn't hit someone! :753_hammer_hitting_head:

It's around 7:30pm here now and I just got done eating. Wasn't a sole here, they eat pretty late. Looks like they are setting up for a big party tonight around the pool. Might be able to get some REALLY good pictures!! :2261_high::2261_high:

my favorite part about greece is the food/work schedule. I visited there quite a few years ago when my uncle was stationed there. everyone seems to work until around noon, then close shop for a few hours for a good size lunch, and nap, then goes back to work in the late afternoon until around 7 or so. Dinner usually doesn't get started good until around 8:30 or 9:00.

Have you noticed anyone on a motor cycle with a helmet over their elbow? When I was there if you wore your helmet that way, you only got 1/2 of a ticket for not wearing it.

There work schedule is great!! :605_thumbs_up: They finished up about 2 / 2:30 every day. Your right, they took a nap after that, then headed out late for dinner/entertainment. Went to several town squares in Patras around 7ish and not very many people around but as it got to 8,9,10 it was packed. The motorcyles are absolutely everywhere! Greece must be very high up on the sales for motorcycles. The driving is an experience. Many, many times saw the "4 by" on the roads, where the 2 lane roads have 4 cars across while screaming down the road, 2 coming towards you and 2 going your direction. I'm used to this because I travel alot overseas but it can be scary if you see it for the first time.

Also, the Ouzo is great! :1992_beer_cheer::2261_high::1992_beer_cheer:
