fishing report 03/14/09

Recommended Posts

Fishing on Sat was pretty good just north of Boca inlet. Lots of assorted kingfish(10lbs-40lbs) in the 100-140ft depth. Sailfish are in the same depth. Fishing gogs and chumming live pilchards produced some great non stop action all day. Looking forward to getting out again when the wind turns around to the north.

Lets get some more reports going.

Cheers,

My son and a couple of his fraternity brothers went to the Big Rock out of Morehead City last Tuesday. It was so cold that ice was building up on the boat from the spray. Just like Deadliest Catch (well maybe not exactly the same). They said when they got to the stream, it was like smoke on the water, where the cold air hit the warm water. They could barely see. So cold and rough, they were the only boat out. Even the charters stayed home. They probably should have too, but youth thinks they are bulletproof. They did real good though. Got a 45# wahoo, 30 and 35# yellowfin, and 20# blackfin. Not a bad day on the water.
