1998 Merc efi 150s vs New 175 ETecs

Recommended Posts

I have a 1998 Seacraft center console with twin merc 150 efis. How would the fuel economy compare if I were to re-power with 175 ETecs? Anyone have a ballpark at cruise, WOT and troll? I really don't have hard numbers on my economy now, but it isn't spectacular.

Thanks for any info you guys have.

the 175 e-tec will get 25 to 35 % better on fuel than you are getting now and if you use the xd-100 oil and setting 30 to 50 % better on oil. if propped right you should get 3 to 5 mph faster
