How far back do you run your daisy chain teasers from the riggers when bill fishing? This year we have been running squid chains of the the riggers but have not had much luck with bills attacking them. I wanted to make sure we are running them in the right position.

I like to run them in clean water right in front of my flat lines or my short riggers, the theory being that the fish will hit the lagging bait behind the larger teaser.

I run mine in the closest clean water and usually have a swimming mullet right behind them when billfising

I also like to run them close, 15-30 feet back. It depends on your fishing method too. For billfish we usually use the bait and switch method, pulling up the teaser and replacing it with a pitch bait when a fish is raised.

Very close to the boat - we keep them on 2nd wake behind the boat.
