New North Carolina Boater Education Law

The North Carolina General Assembly has passed on new statute that requires mandatory boater education. Senate Bill 43 becomes effective May 1, 2010 and requires all boaters under the age of 26 to comlete a NASBLA approved boating safety course. Boaters must present a certification card to law enforcement officers upon their request.

The Greensboro Power Squadron is offering courses, both one day and four evenings, that will fulfill the state requirements. Go to www.greensboropowersquadron.org for dates and times of the classes.
